Which zeds had folding mirrrors as standard? Was it only a Jap thing or did some uk models have them?

 

If i wanted to upgrade to them how much work we talking? new base plate and the wiring ? just new base plate as the wires already there (wishful thinking no doubt?)

Only the Jap specs mate. Mine has got them and I like them but they are probably more expensive to replace than a non folding one, when some fooker in a Fiesta drives into the side of you then fooks off :mad: leaving you with one hanging off :mad:

They do'nt fold in when you turn the motor off mate, there is a switch I normally use it for going through tight caps :D Still handy though.

Some kids climbed on my car to get snow off the roof and used the mirror as a ladder the result was a clean snapped off mirror. I am replacing them now with after market items

You can also have them folding in automatically when you lock the car, which is activated via the immobiliser. Well, it does on mine...........

Think its got somthing to do with the way car's are taxed in Japan IE the overall size of the motor

They're also useful if you get some tw@t behind you on main beam...
