got back from zedworld today had my worst fears diagnosed one of my turbos has had it also turn s out sitting here with a receipt for a cam belt changed 4000klm ago dosnt look as though its had one +other faults that will teach me wot a bummer help :o

i bought it private the previous owner supposedly had it done by crane bank garage in chester i will be there tomorrow to ask them to check there files it said on the receipt they recomended changing the idler rollers but he never had them done the belt is showing signs of cracking though not shredding any ideas on prices of recon turbos fitted thanks :bow:

Don`t get too down, overall your car is good nick, service items that wear out are not a complete detriment to your car, once changed it will be back on form.

 

The cam belt was in poor condition considering it had done only 4k with visible cracking and slits appearing at the teeth edge :eek:

 

Given the receipt the previous owner gave you and the fact it was a non Nissan belt fitted it would be likely it was replaced but the belt quality was very low and this again highlights my view that genuine parts only are the way to go.

 

The non functioning o/s turbo was plain unlucky, again a reminder to all who are about to buy any performance type car and in particular a 300zx that expert advise it essential before buying.

This all sounds too familiar!!!!!

 

Jeffs right i would definately get expert advice next time as my £4k car is now costing me nearer £6k!!!

 

bad luck mate...worse things have happened though! :(
