Hi guys,

Just got me zed through its mot on Saturday, and was driving home from work tonight after picking the wife up.

Yup, you guessed it, belted up the arse by a Mitsubishi Carisma !!

Guy got out and offered his apoligies. After checking no one was hurt he starts to explain that he has just left the hospital where his wife has just lost their child ! Actually felt kinda sorry for him.

Anyways, no one really hurt and damage doesnt seem too bad for my car,

bit worse for him though ! He needs a bumper, 2 lights, grille, bonnet and a radiator !

Question is, coz mine is a jap import and the rear bumper is different from the UK spec car, tell me they wont write it off ??

Rear bumper is cracked a little, back panel is dented, tailgate wont open which means the back panel is pushed in and the bumper support bar is creased in. You never can tell if its any worse till you get the bumper off.

Attached some photos. Away for some beer and a Malt or 2 I think !!

Alan............

I know, I know ! Couldnt believe it myself !

Can of expanding foam from B&Q at a tenner will do the same job. (nearly)

Other funny thing was, on the breakdown on the estimate, its given 0.30 hrs to remove the back lights and centre panel ??

It will take half an hour just to try to get the black gunky stuff off your hands ! :D

Its in the hands of the insurance now, so will wait and see what happens.

Another annoying thing was, most people you talk too say, "are you putting a claim in for whiplash ?" Neither my wife or I was hurt, so its really taking the piss a bit if i did.

Not slagging anybody off for doing it. If you genuinely get hurt then its no laughing matter and by all means, yeah go for it, but I couldnt walk into my doctors and try to kid him on I was sore when I wasnt.

Too honest me, thats my problem ! ;)

Alan..............

i used to think wiplash was a myth, but ive had it twice in six months and i get terrible headaches from it

the second was the worse, the first one i didnt think i had it till a week later when i couldnt turn my head at all, and had to go to docs, he said it was quite severe.

so if i was you, i would go to the docs just incase, cause its fookin painfull :hyper:

I know what you're saying Alan, if it's a genuine case of whiplash then fair do, but putting it on and then claiming is adding to all the insurance price hikes all the time. Well done to you for sticking to your morals.

We're slowly turning into a 'Sue-Everyone' state, it's bloody ridiculas (SP)
