So after finally getting round to changing my supposed dead bulbs in my spoiler brake light turns out that its not connected to anything! Im assuming that as the spoiler was swopped not long before i got the car they just didnt bother to reconnect the brake light.

Im presuming that some where under the boot trim will eb the feed lines for the brake light in the spoiler and that im not going to have to wire it all the way down to the rear lights.

Does anyone have pictures under the boot trim that might help or a good description of what i should find under the boot trim to let me hook the rear spoiler light up..

cheers andy

No pics mate-but deffo a connector under the trim!-stick a test light on it and hit the brakes-you'll find it! :D

You should find the wire on the inside of the tailgate under the plastic i hope.

Good luck.

damn it uk spec car... where is the best place to run the wire from/via... assuming either of the rear brake lights but how to run it up to the boot lid under the trim?

i run mine from the rear loom under the boot seal taped it to the rubber cable duct at top of the tail gate then down to bottom to connect

i have done this its a piece of cake i will take pics if it helps and post it up , i bought brake light of off here and fitted it myself, as mine uk spec too and like white zed said they dont have the loom in place , but as long as you have some wire and conectors and insulation tape , its easy

If you need a brake light. Ive got one you can have going spare. PM me if you need it.

Same as me mate - didn't take too long either :D

mate thanks very much.. the efforts apprechaited honestly.... save me wasting the whole weekend for a simple job....

here they are at last ,, right pic 1

this is probably the hardest bit , you will need some med size wire , "speaker wire size but not to thin " two lentghs of it at least 5mtrs long,. , where brake light spoiler goes thread wires through leaving enough to connect to your spoiler light ,

you may need to drill the hole a little to pass the wire through , , thread it though to left side of boot hatch then , top left corne there is a gromet, wires will have to run to there and trough to body of car,, i did cheat a liitle hear as removing tailgate for me was too much so i insulated wires and threaded them straight to trim of car see pic 1 ,,

in next part remove cover plate to rear light lft side you will see theres a black wire and a green and red striped wire, these are the two you will need , bearing in mind ive use red and white wire you will have to colour match your conections tyou your chosen colour of wire, basically the rear spoiler light will have same colour conectors, so if you cut the black wire leading to the rear light you must connect the black from rear spoiler light to it , then reconect to the end you have cut to rejoin the conection ,

i used a chockky blok for above conections , wouldnt recomend twisting and electrical tape would use more permanet strong conection,,

with above done do the same with the red/green striped wire, then this part ast least is done, ,

(theres alreayd enough insulating tape in the car from last guy im trying to get it all out!!)
