I watched his car twitch then he went for it. So did i :hyper: Only thing is, he slipped bye as i was snaking all over the fookin road FFS  Whats the use in having a bit of power if you can't use it :headvswal

never thought i'd say it but... traction control?

never liked the idea of it before until i got my Z a few weeks ago with the racelogic system and it works a treat, gives you more confidence on the roads especially when wet.

What make tyres are you running?

Get some decent rubber - when I fitted Goodyear F1s the rear end strangely stopped being so wayward :hyper:

Even in the wet now I find it hard to get the back end to let go, unless being really stupid........

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Same for me...........

......Untill i fitted a boost controller, now its spinney arse end again!!!!

When Ryan at Ztech set up my boost controller he floored it but never stayed in 1st gear long - then whacked it into second without letting off the gas!! It shifted faster than I thought was possible and because you dont hang around in first it doesnt wheel spin as much.

Thanks again to Ryan if he reads this for scaring me to death that day

Racelogic is defo on my shopping list. With digital adgust so you can turn it off when you want. As a daily driver in winter it makes sense.

I'm starting a new group buy for RLTC tomorrow! :)

PS. You can turn it off without the Digi Adjuster - this just gives you extra configuration options without the need for a laptop..

on a fairly modified zed first gear is next to useless so i i make first very short and into second etc which gives less spin and much harder acceleration, everybody drives differently trick really is to use slightly less throttle or jump out of first into second quick

I have learned the hard way that flooring the throttle when my ZX is not almost totally straight that the back end goes bye bye. So i try to keep throttling smoothish. But i really need some novice guidance on a track.

good tires & decent suspension is what you need. I have Toyo's on the rear and once warm will hold full boost in 2nd, 1st is obviously a no go unless you want wheel spin :D

Front-engined, high bhp rwd is a good recipe for drifting, but not for traction (as there is a lower proportion of the weight over the driven wheels than in eg. a fwd, front-engined hatch, which is why the Golf has less probs).

The Z is less fun on a track than a mid- or rear-engined car in my experience, as you have to wait longer exiting corners until you can get back on the power.

You need a gentle right foot in slippy conditions or the power just spins the wheels, even in third.

mines a liability in this poor weather, slight hint of shit on the roads and I,m snaking about when starting to boost up in 2nd and 3rd nearly cought me out a few times, it seems even worse with mi wider tyres 325/25/19 conti's ffs over 500 quid a pair ffs

iv got goodyear F1's & can light the rear wheels in 3rd when i hit full boost :o

RLTC is the way forward IMO :)

A Front engined, Rear wheel drive car has FAR more traction than a fwd, front-engined car !

When you accelerate the weight transfer is pushed to the rear of the car, as a downward force over the rear wheels.

a Golf has less problems becuase of power output. A powerfull fwd car is a nightmare to drive with constant traction problems, which is why there are virtually no powerfull fwd cars.

Well i managed to loose the back end when accelerating from 50 or 60 in a straight line with decent tyres. I think i ,must have caught the white line. Nearly wiped out Yami in the process :(. Lucky the car snapped back straight so all was fine :)

PS. She still could not overtake me LOL :)

I've started a new Racelogic group buy for anyone who is interested in this great product!
