Had a little play on my way home tonight and well not even a play really!!! flew up me bum so i moved over he pulled along side to have a look and then belted it so thought well why not :D so didnt bother changing down a gear so floored it in 5th an had over took him in a few seconds and then he was just a dot ;)

 

Slowed down and back to normal speeds and a few minutes later he flew past not looking too happy

well done son thats what i like to see

I took my ZX out for a thrashing this morning - love these cold dry days, soooo good for the turbos :D

 

A couple of guys were having a bit of a race along a dual carriageway - one in a BMW 330 coupe and the other in a Jag XJR (not the V8, previous straight 6 supercharged - N reg)......

 

......they both got in my way :mac1:

 

Jag smoked the BM, pulled over and I just had to fly past them both :bow:

i had a go with a corvette C5 on the way home from work the other day and absolutely blew it away!! and the best bit.....................it was a woman!!! :D does anyone know what engine/performance these things are? as i'd like to gauge it against my zx. theres no replacement for displacement my ar$e!! :smw:

Corvette C5 is about 400bhp. But their 0-60 figures are comparable with a standard Zed I think. Tuneable engine though.

i suppose because mine is a bit tweaked i had the upper hand. it was from about 60-135 (where the zed lives IMO) and on a private road of course as i do not condone racing on a public highway! :nelson: nice to know a zed can hold its own against those yank tanks!!lol :D

nice to see, a guy at work driving a golf gti (20 valve one) keeps giving me sh1t that his car is faster than mine, but not found a good time to prove him wrong... surely even a zed stock is quicker than the r32 version of the golf?

absolutely!! had a play with one of those in my old 200sx s14a and was faster and my zed is by far faster than my old 200sx!! (sorry to hijack the thread!!)

i drove the new st, nice and punchy, but not a zed. why do they get a nippy car and think it's going to beat a 15 year old datsun. :rant: :o

Grip being a main factor against a r32 owner. They have a v good advantage with 4wd. I have raced a few Golfs from 2.0 GTis to the Turbo versions and they are just a waste of time like most cars :bow: even though mine is still pretty much stock (for another couple of weeks).

Ive had a R32 have a go before, they do have lots of torque, i not sure about a std z mid range against one due to this though. I was running 12psi when i came up against one, but he kept with me till about 60.

Sorry I love my zeds but it should be able to beat a TT top speed and 0-60 are about equal.. although a TT (unmodified) will loose on a quarter mile....

 

For those who are possibly up for some american verse jap combat let me know.. I can arrange with my local club .... as I am in a american car club as well....... and american myself.. but I have to re state... I love my zed.. just no way will it keep up with a vette.. camaro... or a Hemi V8.. lol

I wound the boost on mine up to 21psi the other day just to make sure it wouldn't fall apart before the warrantly on engine +tubs ran out. I had it in 4th gear, booted it & the traction control had to do it's stuff!! The roads weren't even wet either :eek: :hyper:
