Hi All

A question about the LCD TV/CD autochanger which came with my Jap import TT 1992.

The unit functions as a control for the CD autochanger in the boot (most of the time) but the TV option gives a blank 'whiteout' picture. There is a 'curly' aerial on the top of the rear screen.

Do you think it simply needs tuning in? There is also a remote control but I've no idea how to operate it as the instructions are in Japanese.

Are these TVs capable of working in the UK or is there a frequency issue?

When I originally bought the car the owner managed to get a very fuzzy picture of some sort but after a few tries when I tried it later the screen whited out 30s or so after the unit was switched on and now is like that all the time.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Pete

I've just bought one for my Zed but i double checked before buying that it was a multi region,it's a double din unit but i have heard from people of frequency issues but i'm not 100% sure on that? Are you the first owner since it came from Japan as it may be for Japanese frequencies also if the unit controls the changer most of the time then i would also check the connections and wiring are secure at the back of the unit along with the arial plug from the rear screen?Just in the off chance it is multiregion then it may just be a simple case of the arial connector has become unplugged thus receiving no signal from the arial itself?

Hope this has helped any?

Ron

Mine came with a pop-out LCD screen, but I have been told it will not work with most things in Europe as it works on NTSC rather than PAL.

So things like PS2s should work but most european DVD players will not.

I have basically given up on trying to get mine to work. I would take it out but then I would have a hole on the dash!

Thanks for the ideas, I am the first owner, as I said I did originally see a fuzzy pic of some sort now its whiteout only. I'll have a look and see if the connectors are adrift.

cheers !
