Do both hicas and non hicas need 4 wheel alignment?

does a non hicas n/a need 4 wheel alignment? or just the 2 front wheels?

went to kwik fit garage this morning to get a front wheel alignment and he said ' nope cant do that here as you have a 300zx and they all have hicas..you need a computerised 4 wheel alignment which will cost up to 100 big ones' i said oh ok then knowing my car has no hicas ( 90 NA)and didnt want him messing with it ..i went home and called a few tyre places and they said the cost is expensive coz they have to adjust camber and caster...i have read on here that these are non adjustable..are the ****s taking me for a ride or what?

all I want is a basic wheel alignment so that my steering wheel is straight and my wheels are straight..is this too much to ask from a tyre shop? :headvswal

anyone had any similar probs? any recomendations?

Errr-think they tell you plenty crap bud!-Hicas or not, the alignment should be done!-Rear toe and camber is adjustable on Hicas, front toe only unless fitted with adjustable aftermarket arms.

You need to go to a place that does this only (if there's one near you?) as you get a better service from someone who does it day in-day out IMO!

Find a good bodyshop that fixes well smashed cars .. they'll do a 4 wheel geometry check for you.

the front track check ca nbe done by anyone . so persist wit hyour local garages . hicas or not

The checking can be done by any old tyre shop to see if it may be out. However to have the allignment altered/corrected you'd best take it to a 4 wheel allignment specialist.

There are a few around and the cost is not so bad - around £60 for 4 wheel adjustments, £30-ish just for fronts. Look in Yellow Pages - often specialist alloy wheel suppliers/fitters will have the facility.

Where in London are you mate?

When I lived in the East End I used to go to Elite over in Rainham, just on the A13 near the Ford factory.
