cant use it here, not allowed sorry... doesnt meet the quality requirements for safety

how come? the Ferrari 360 Challange Stradale (sp?) and porsche GT3 RS use lexan glass

it is built in as standard however if you modify a car and add this stuff afterwards it doesnt comply with the current regs, trust me i know, i was going to have the car roof chopped and lowered till i found out about using lexan, i then had to find a supplier to make glass, this was extortionate as i would have a minimum run of 6 pairs too pricy!!

also long as they are not solidly fixed, or if they are that they have an opening aperture in them. which means you can fit the lexan glass, but all replacements must have an access port incase of emergency... you gonna have a zed with lexan thats got an easy means of entry?

i was going to use these guys for mine..

cant they make replacements with the same diameter so the galss will go down into the door, or am i missing the point?

i need some Lexan/polycarbonate. door glasses maing for my SWB 300.Either direct replacements that activate electrically or preferably fixed in place with sliding hatches in them Rally stylee.

So let me know what happens.

Not bothered one way or the other about the legal side.

Its illegal to drive over 70mph.

speak to the guys in my link pete. they can help you

if you get straight replacement windows done then let me know ;) ;) don't think the missus will appreciate fixed glass

Perhaps Chunk will want a set too????

Ive already found someone in Nottingham to do the rear hatch window in polycarb. Just got to get him a template made. He reckons the flat 3mm sheet will fit if held in place with some small bolts and some bonding silicone.

Be aware that polycarbonate is very 'soft' compared to glass and will scratch very easily. I.E. wipers, winding window up/down..........

Thanks for the heads up .

I was already aware due to having it on rally cars in the past.

Not having any rear wiper anyway. And probably go for fixed sides with sliding cover over port-hole on the side.

Probably have a NASCAR style support bar down the middle of the hatch too.

The whole project is really frustrating at the moment. I have the ideas and the budget to do it but NO time!! LOL I HATE WORK!!
