i had my worst fear confirmed by Gary at APT Tuning at Lenwade...... .the big ends are on the way out and will also require a new crank and has recommended a engine rebuild.Ive decided to stand by my Zed (in the hope i will have a strong engine at the end of this ordeal)but just waiting for him to price it up.Any body else know of any reputable Mechs in or around Norwich area who could tackle it?

I don't know of any in Norwich. I would take it to someone on here. One of the guys on here has gone self employed & I think they pic your car up for you. Can't remember the name or the post. But Chunk will know...

Don't take it to anyone in Norwich. Use the Club they know best.

I would use the club and go with people who have a reputation founded on their love for the Z. My gearbox died recently taking the propshaft bearings with it and I also knew my turbo's needed replacing.........etc. etc. :( I want another 60k miles with my Z until the new GTR arrives so I had to bite the bullet for serious work.

 

Ztech have been absolutely A1 throughout and taken me through my trauma as well as sorting bits on the car that I did not needed doing and recommending me away from spending money when I thought I wanted to. That is my measure of a top place. No one loves my Z more than me but I would not hesitate leaving it with ryan and his team for work. They pick-up and deliver also. But I will be driving mine home!!!!

 

Good luck with the re-build cause you know you'd be dissappointed driving anything less. e.g. My bosses Aston is shite compared to my Z
