I've read in the buyers guide that 1989-1990 can suffer from valve and head problems??

Would this make it wise to steer away from buying one of that year??

Thanks Mark

Nah I've read that too but don't where the evidence to support it is

And tbh, any problems they might have suffered would have been fixed years ago :)

I think the 300ZX is a problem car whatever year mate. mine is a 1990 and its fine

Someones emailed me and selling a 1990 manual TT. 44000miles. He has put leather interior.

The clutch possibly on its way out, rising revs, but will sell for £3000.

2+2, little ding in front wheel arch.

What you recon??

My limit is £4000 so I can get the clutch done with money saved.

Need turbos!!!!!!!! LOL

Had to sell motorbike to buy house, so need something thats a little bit fast...

Cant get another bike, need a car.

I Have a tt import but to be honest unless your going to modify it big time there isnt really an awfull lot of difference between the 2 N\A more user friendly TT uses more fuel also bigger bills

Its only a toy car, so not knocking up miles, Fuel shouldnt be a prob.

Bills...oh well.....lol

Cant see the N/A being as fast as the TT?

where in this country are you really going to be doing more than 140 mph most n\a`s will do this just the TT will get there quicker but not by an awful lot unless you spend a fortune on mods :x:

The NA is around 1.5 seconds slower to 60 IIRC.

And probably at least 4 slower to 100.....

.....plus the TT has so much more torque that in mid-range overtaking speeds it will wallop an N/A

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

my old car did 0-60 in 7.2 secs.

TT it is!!!!

Still not gonna beat my bike, but still fast!!!

stop kidding yourself

my last bike was a VFR 750 and my 300zx TT is defo quicker though not as quick as my old GPZ 750 Turbo now that was quick ( for its time )

I have both, and there really is a massive difference at all speeds!

NA is more economical around town but TT more economical on motorway journey(if you stay off boost).

Can't garauntee it will be any more reliable (I've found both to be very reliable), but you dont ever have to worry about the cost of new turbos with an NA.

The NA has all the looks but is cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure (if you go to the right places) and a bit safer for those not used to RWD power.

Yapiedog, its in Surrey.

Waiting for some pics he said he will take this weekend for me.

comparing my old N/A and my recently acquired TT i can honestly say the TT is very much quicker, no doubt about it.. comparing it to my gsrx600 it's slow.

I've owned a gixxer 600 and i know its not gonna compare. Also been on my brothers Busa a bit and thats just fooking stupid!!!!!

Just want another toy (gotta be car) thats fast and fun.

Old car was ok, 306 gti6, sold that to my brother now.

Time for turbos!!! hehe

i'm on the same boat mate.. decided to get rid of the gsxr as it was wasting away in the winter and i was doing some silly things in the wet, it was only a matter of time before i done some damage.. got the Z but i don't think i would have sold it for anything other than a Z.. the Z has everything, fast, rwd, looks great, feels great to drive, not particularly common... i love it...

now blue/white gsxr's you see every day lol

doesnt matter what year it is. chances are that the engine has already been exchanged, perhaps for a neweer one off a 1992 or later model.
