Erm if they had said on the phone that they will cover you then they have to stand by it, its all part of the FSA's rules and regulations. If they dont i would suggest taking it to the fsa and they get a mahoosive fine (£££££)

Not sure mate, they just asked what mileage approx and that what I guessed it at, I suppose if its a classic policy they are expecting the mileage to be a bit lower than normal as the car is not your daily driver.

Is yours an import?

Is yours an import?

yup, just had a look at my insurance documents, doesnt say anywhere that it is for a UK only, nor does it say excluding imports and at no time did they ask the question or mention the fact, bloody insurance companies expect you to be mind readers and no doubt they would refuse to pay out if this is correct and they realised mine was an import.

They all said to me today is it UK or Jap. I think you need to ring them bud would hate to see you out of pocket.

Try Norton Insurance - 0121 246 5050(ask for Jason) - have mine fully comp on a classic policy with an agreed value, for £330-00. 6000 mile per annum+ UK and continental breakdown cover+legal expenses all included

Fortunately I have not renwed yet got a couple of days to go but even so if thats true it means I have not been insured for the last year and if they had asked me that I would have told them its an import  Will ring them tomorrow and find out for definate.

Surely if they never asked you they felt they had all the information they needed to make a judgement on your policy. If they didn't ask they are effectivewly saying they don't care if it is an import or not.

This is were it would be useful to record all phone conversations with insurers.

Just got off the phone to Carole Nash and they have my car down as an import. They now cover certain imported vehicles but not all. At least I was covered.
