Could anyone tell me what parts are needed and roughly the cost of doing this. would be good to get car back on road again without ripping up a full set of tyres in only 4 weeks!!!!. anyone local who's done this any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:

Why don't people just disconnect the Hicas rather than completely remove it?

It seems a shame to remove it! one of the main things i liked about the Zed was the Hicas! the same setup on Most Skylines.

Soon there wont be a single Zed With it. :(

It's only a shame if you remove it when it works, 95% of Z's HICAS is goosed

Dont know if mines working or not all i know is that it's all over the place on the back end. Going round corners or even over slightly bumpy ground is an effort to keep it on the road.

how much does the hicas weigh?

Been told it weighs a bit over 20kg (Here it comes everyone is going to correct me now :x: )

Could be worn shocks or springs or even bushes hence why loss of control under bumpy conditions.

Had new shockers last summer, am going to change bushes next month.

mine is all over the place over bumpy ground, at high speeds and when i drive on the white lines. i have been told my suspension is shot but i cant help thinking is my hicas gone aswell. i was told you can disable it how do you do this and can it turned back on

mine is the same, not so much at high speeds but at low speeds. it changes lanes by itself when it hits a bump. changing rear shoxs and hicas arms.

when your power steering fluid is low and the hicas light comes on, does it mean the hicas has been disabled?

my hicas works properly and if it gets knackered it will be repaired not removed

i Agree with you i believe when you by a Zed you have to accept that these are very expensive car to maintain and you must be willing to repair them regardless of cost!

Any part that fails on my Zed will be repaired or replaced with a working part.

If it comes to the case where i start disabling parts just because they are Expensive then i might as well Sell it and buy something Cheaper to maintain.

I have learned that alot of people buy these High Performance cars that are now aging and expect them to be cheap to maintain.

When they do realise how expensive they are to keep on the road they just give up and sell them. :(

Pointless getting one in the first place in that case.

Removing Hicas has absolutely nothing to do with being cheaper - it's about removing an unnecessary driver aid - we don't drive fast enough in the UK to warrant it (Germany maybe). It would be a different matter if Nissan had followed Honda's example and utilised it as a parking aid...

Not wanting to remove mine for the cost. Just dont see the point of keeping something that you dont really need and is well known for breaking on our cars.

Like i said before, Once its removed it can't break anymore. Its just down to personal opinion i think.

Who does not drive Fast enough in their Z32 in the Uk?? :D

cost isn't an issue with the hicas i'm just trying to find out if it's broke aswell as my suspension. Because all my suspension is out and needs setting up and if the hicas is broke aswell then i'll debate if i should get rid of it or not, but only if i like it better without hicas

if your suspension is sha**ed you may as well replace all the bushes at the same time ie suspension and hicas together as you wont feel any difference by only doing half the job if not remove the whole lot
