New car time again and the Z has to go :( It's been fun and all that but money is burning a hole in my pocket so.....

I've narrowed it down to 3 cars - all v. different with pros/cons..just want to get a straw poll from yourselves about what you'd buy from the 3!

(1) 911 (964) circa 1991 manual w. 100,000K Met. Grey - good nick

(2) 2003 Lotus Elise manual w. 10,000K Blue w. Hardtop - perfect cond.

(3) 2003 Nissan 350Z auto w. 15,000K - Import - perfect cond.

Some info - I am a lazy bugger and enjoy the auto boxes...

I drive wkends only though so could live with a manual

So help a guy out - what the f*** will I get?!??!

Personnally i would go for a late 928GTS superb cruiser.

Or a House Brick........LOL........ :D

Richard - I'm sure I put you onto this idea - not that it matters! :D

It's the running costs that could be the fly in the ointment with a Maseratti though. I bet something simple like a clutch would be thousands.

You may well have done mate - I know it was someone here ;) :D

I was chatting the the broker who supplies my company's fleet cars about one a while back. He said they are very good cars and unlike most Italian rubbish, quite reliable. However you're right about costs - an exhaust system is £3k from memory.....

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Well it's looking like the NIssan is winning the battle on the forum....

911 is out of the equation so that leaves Elise & 350z.

Lotus Test Drive wednesday, and here's the 350z I'm looking at (have yet to book test drive) -> http://stock.autorespond.co.uk/bristolimportcentre_sport.aspx?sItem=1&sType=Car&sCarID=6999&sPageNo=5&sPageMax=10&sFormat=Vehicle

.

Anyone know the Bristol Import Centre by reputation?

Anyone know the Bristol Import Centre by reputation?
They seem pretty good but pricey. For only 2 grand more you could get a 2004 UK version!

None of that lot. Dunno why, but the 350Z has never appealed to me in the slightest. It has nowhere near the road presence the 300ZX has, it's not as quick and it's nothing like as exotic looking as the Zed. I find it quite dull actually.

I want a Honda NSX to replace my Zed. I think it's the only logical step up as far as price restrictions take me.

Deffinately one of the best looking cars to come out of Japan. Very reliable as well.

Although quite powerful as standard (circa 300bhp), twin turbo coversions are available for them. Upping their power to just over 400bhp. Thats running at moderately low boost of 7PSi. So retaining reliability. So I'm sure 500+bhp is within easy reach.

Didn't even think of the NSX.....and a nice example in black ;)

Still - I think the ones in my price range might be a little old for the price (same as the 964 in some respects)...although w. Honda record for reliability.....couldn't be worse than the lotus could it?!
