hi all i dont know if anyone will agree with me here but since i have had my zed there must be maybe only a hand full of things i have bought from england the rest has been from the states. All cheaper even with carrage, why is this and we (england) will never compete with them.

me and autobeast have just orderd 2 HID kits from a company in the states and with 1yr warranty, shipping and income charges its only around £160 over here there about another £70 roughly.

how come england carnt have these prices, spent 2 days comparing all sorts of prices and items, not just zeds or cars but just over all genral stuff and there always cheaper, in sum cases they have been found more expensive but thats including shipping aswell.

can anyone answer this.

I can... us americans are great... oops i live in england now.. bugger

lol....

US Rocks....

UK Stinks....

Likewise karl....probably only get about 20% of my kit from UK...

Even after shipping and duty US still pi55es over the UK prices ;)

God Bless America.....and im fookin british...(apparently)

Disclaimer.....I am in no way religious infact almost an athiaest and am just stating my opinion.....ffs....politics :xxx:

Rip off britain. Prices are inflated on purpose for this country, Thats why official suppliers over here cant even get stuff as cheap as you can from the US.

thats because the yanks have big buying power and if they cant bargain with you they just in**de you lol

well remember everyone... if you have any problems getting anything over from the states.. let me know..

you can have them shipped (pre arranged with me) to my friends house.. and then he will ship them to us...

obviously you will pay what the total cost of shipping is... no fees from us....

lol

just a thank you.. bottle of wine or something nice.. lol

Its soooooooooooo annoying eh. When you compare prices without taking carriage into account the difference is unbelievable!

UK prices are often double that of the US.

National Health service and Unemployment benefits.

We spend so much time taking it all for granted but the yanks dont get the same treatment as we do. If you are ill in the states and you dont have insurance you suffer? So whilst this country claim to have a great national health service, we are paying for it as we get taxed on everything twice and things become more expensive. Out there they dont have this system so the government dont need to draw so much on the public and therefore things are allowed to become cheaper?

I think........

i say we should do it the american way, at least then all the imagrints would come over here and use our good nature and health service, but thats another story.

from now on unless i really need it im buying everything from the states, just got my chrome dash kit today, took 3 days for it to arrive.

Totally agree Karl. I am all for personal insurance. I know i am going to get my head bit off for that statement. But thats how (I) see it.

WAIT TIME OUT!!!!

1) if you get ill in the states and dont have health cover you will not really suffer... you get state aid.. which covers medical costs.. the only extra treatment you get is if it is necessary.. ie to have plastic surgery etc for having a mole removed etc.. (sorry but you know what I mean)

2) you still get housing, and unemployment bennifets as well... you just never see it in movies etc.

3) after state, national, federal taxes and some stupid taxes ..... that they randomly make up.. I am actually better off as far as being taxed here than in the states.....

I dont have to pay property tax.. (simmular to council tax but far less here)

I pay road tax here yearly but in the states i have to pay property tax on cars trucks bikes etc....and if its a sports car say.. it goes on it true value.. if you try to fiddle it your Fkuced......

I could go on and on about this.... but some things are more expensive here.. yes... and some are cheaper... for bloody sake shop around when you can............ dont pick on any country... lol

unless its mexico...lol

sorry inside joke for americans.........

at the mo its only car stuff im looking for and at the moment its the states that are coming up trumps, see my WHAT WHEELS thread and you will see what i mean, maybe £480 for the rims and i can get them shipped in by a mate for sod all really then i will get tyres all in im looking at about £1000 for an awsum set of rims, you carnt get that in england, well you can but not chrome (nice wheels im on about now)

I do love the states, been over a fair few times. I just hate the Bush administration with a passion, but the American people are generally great, if a little over emotional... ;)

I love the wide roads, the cheap fuel, the nice women and abundance of food. :)

PLUS, they do have a huge selection of 'quality' car bits over there, ie, some seriously beautiful wheels. ZE-forged and I-forged rims being my total favourites.

PS, only downside is there's too many Zeds over there. I like the exclusivity they have over here and I'd miss that if I went over there and had one.

Right after my time out...LOL. I was only stating the facts has given to me by an american mate of mine. He loves this country because in he's own words...."F**K ME MAN.....EVERYTHING IS FREE HERE"

Whilst disgusing the national health service. I stand corrected.

have bought 90% of my aftermarket parts from the states, saved me £££'s!

did you still same money even when import tax was added ,cos im really seriously considering buying from there!

Tell u what taking out private medical insurance like the yanks do would cost me a lot less than the hundreds a month tax i have paid for umpteen years .

I think the yanks are a good nation except for the loony bible belt who still believe in Adam & Eve and Noah's fookin ark LOL. (anyone who is educated and understands the science of evolution will understand what i mean  )

Our 300zx.co.uk Traders mostly Import from the States and Japan, but with them you get the Sales and after-sales Support & Warranty from a fellow Zed enthusiast in the UK.

Most often the price difference is worth it for the extra Support and Reassurance.

It costs Ford $2000 on the price of making every car in healthcare costs for its employees. So its not straight forward. But my mum lives outside of New York and i love the place and the people. I would live on the east coast if i got the chance.

yep :D

just touching on health care.... its like car insurance... you have excess and premiums to pay if you use them... so at a quick glance .... brittian is cheap as chips... but on the other hand its expensive as hell!!!!!

for the nhs tax that comes out of my wages every month.... i would pay far less for priviate health insurance.. which will have things like dental plan... opticians.... etc.....

here i cant get on the nhs for a dentist.. and still gotta pay priviate.... i wait in que's for hours at a hspt... and people are bleeding all over the place.... if your what we used to call in the health field a " regular" or someone who abuses the nhs service... well those people kinda dont exist in america only because they gotta be rich to do that... because they are paying say... 50$ each time they visit A&E.... that is a standing charge... then insurance picks up the rest....

its difficult to explain.. but its alot cheaper... expecially for those who have never been... or maby only been once in a while....

example... i broke my back... my car insurance would have paid the ambulance to pick me up.... then paid the fire dept to remove any mess my car made.... and any damnage to the road like broken poles etc.....

my health insurnace would have then covered my treatment... and although i am not complaining about my treatment... i can assure you i would have been treated much better and quicker in america... no faffing around..... or waiting.

and this probably would have cost me about 50$ total.... plus meds cost......and minus the discount i get for having health insurance on meds cover.... so about the same cost here for meds.......

something to think about.

pps some parts are silly import duty price.... hence why i offered to have it shipped to my friends.. he puts down they only cost 25$ and writes scrap on the ticket.. so i dont have to pay ... lol...

My mum was very unfortunate to get cancer 2 years ago but was very lucky to have just immigrated to the USA. Thanks to her private healthcare she got the very best treatment which included top doctors on 24 hour call out. She got total proactive care. Whereas the NHS will often only look at you if you have definate symptoms.

I have pains in my kidneys and twice i have seen the GP about it, done a blood test and they said everything was fine. Well if i didnt not get a deep groaning main in them they would be, but they hurt! so something must be wrong, bahh!

I have private health cover through work but they wont do anything without a referal from my NHS GP.. duh, how crap is that!

But all that said i think we should keep the NHS and its hospitals that are like dungeons lol

ok i can see that the traders have to make a profit otherwise whats the point, but what im saying is how do they compete with the states on prices or ebay say for example, people say you dont get warrenty or reassurance, course you do if you buy from a company and if you dont buy from a company then you get what you diserve if it goes wrong, everything i have got from the states comes with wrranty. ok i now it will be more of a pain in the ass to get it fixed, but by the time people in england get off there ass to help and sort you out, the blokes out in the states have already sent you another one out. (not saying all traders are like this) I have a top of the range american head unit, but i bought it from england, it went wrong took it back to shop they tried to fix it, in that the fuked up my dash board so i had to fork out for that coz they said were doing ME a favour by having a look and sorting it out for me, even though it had only been seven months...... anyway this happened for a few months longer, it going wrong and all sorts, i got pissed off and demanded another one they said no coz it was out side my warrenty period, it was under a yr, i sent 2 emails to the main company of the head unit told them what had happened in full sent all reciets and everything... with in 4 days i had the next model up and all the stuff that went with it... now can you see why more people are going directly to the states.

im not saying i will never buy from england again, but if i can wait for it i will buy from america, if its sumthing i need right now, then i buy from england.

That's great until yer caught out, it takes just 1 decent priced package to come through in bits or worse not at all ( oh it happens) and you can claim just 25 dollars!

Simply it's a case of a warranty is only as good as the company who supplied/manufactured the goods. I had 5 customers last year to bought from the US and 2 had a bad experience and the other 3 trying to sort faulty goods out  in turn they came to me and obviously more expense but also the headache that can go with it. Say for example you buy a product which once fitted may still give symtoms as something wrong, say perhaps HKS turbo's and a HKS tripple plate clutch ( just for arguments sake) you fit these items and the car maybe still smoking or the clutch feels like it's slipping or won't disengage or just undriveable, i can tell you now for a fact, they will like any other company say that fault lies somewhere else, cost of removing these goods certainly ain't cheap, postage to the US deffo ain't cheap!!! and you gotta wait to find out what's what and still the same answer, heartache and expense and wost of all time of the road.

Now should similar goods have come from say myself, you would have received the parts that i feel from over 6 years of selling parts for Zeds is right for your cars engine and future plans, should you not be happy with something i can be contacted most of the time in minutes, i know how these goods should operate and feel and would speak with the garage direct re the fitting etc, still nowt resolved, then at my own expense i replace the parts subject to confirmation the parts are not as they should be and it is ME who deals with the supplier even if he's across the pond to resolve matters.

Theres a couple guys on here who have been burned very badly in their dealings with across the water and the same goes for ebay, they may come forward and say what's happend.

"great today but gone tomorow" is my final saying on it ;)

Good luck
