When we type a post up on here some people do not realize that they are not just typing comments to their friends in a car club, it some times slips their mind it is not another MSN window you are telling the whole wide world your thoughts or comments.

Free speach to all I say. People can say what they like IMHO...they should say what they think..We don't have to all agree on every subject do we? Or get put in jail for haveing a point of view. The world has gone nutts......On being correct.

I pretty much agree. There have got to be some limits but all this guy did was explain how he behaves. I don't think that anyone thinks any more of him because of it and had the thread been left open there would probably have been a load of messages pointing out what a tw*t he is! :mac1:

Not having a go at Iain here as we've had discussions in the past about closing threads/removing posts and he knows that I almost always think that things should be allowed to run their course. I also know that he doesn't really give a t*ss about what I think ;)

i'll start off by calling each and every member of this forum a total ****er.

 

this is after all my perogative to do so under the freedom of speech rule.

 

there is such thing as decency and morality, we all have points of views which in some cases are better left unsaid. we as grown adults should have the common sense to know what is to be said and what is not acceptable. some ofcourse think all is funny and there are others who instigate situations without thought. looks like some still havn't left the classrooms.

there is freedom of speech and there's offensive. you have freedom of action.. then why is there something called criminal action..thats because some things are NOT acceptable.

Its not about freedom of speech, its about the simple fact that he broke a rule in the AUP .

 

The Ban was then increased from 1 week to 1 month due to an offensive email to Mac (another AUP rule broken).

 

The AUP is set-out and on display to all members. Its there for many reasons and is simple to follow.

Freedom is great and we all enjoy it. But there have to be rules and 'no racism' should be one of them.

 

The thing is in teh USA they have to endorce free speech, it in tehir amandment. In the UK and much of Europe, where we are guys, we have limits on free speech.

 

You cannot say what you want publicaly, but putting things into text has even greater laws. As the law sees it, the law not the bar room law, or uncle joes law, or the law acording to some guy round the corner. The law states teh people in charge of a news or public forum are in fact responcible for anything that is said, advertised through willing endorsement (basic advertising law, chambers press, 2004). Its the willing endorsement that is the problem.

 

Lets say there is a post on why gay indian verticaly challenged, bald death adn dumb woman (this is a fictisios example, and i picked a minority group on purpose and no offence is ment) should dirive xyz because of xyz.

And as in all forums people start to join the "cause" and someone who fits that bill sees the post, we would be liable, justly.

 

Whats the difference between teh example I gave and the next one. these (insert people) are coonts. In the eyes of the law its the same.

I have be looking in this for a few years now , a friend has just bought a zed 300 but he does not have a pc so i registered with the intention of subscribing, hope thats not a problem as it says in your rules guests are welcome
