Rotorstock 3 - Sunday and Monday 28-29 May 2006
Hey there - it’s not a private party … YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO COME AND HAVE FUN WITH US; all you need to be part of the event is a Japanese car.
You probably already know something about Rotorstock - an event that combines an open drag strip and drift course with championships on each - as well as a ‘show and shine’ contest for display cars. The event is organised by the Mazda Rotary Club but all of the activities are open to any Japanese car and the weekend aims to bring the UK Japanese enthusiast scene together.
In 2005 it attracted over nine thousand visitors, hosted over two thousand runs up the quarter mile (in competitions or just for fun) and gave many their first look at D1 style drift action in the UK. A frantic weekend of competition for more than fifty different trophies also saw spectacular jet powered dragsters racing side by side; the first time in the UK for over twenty years.
2006 will have all the same reasons to attend plus more, making Rotorstock 3 the biggest and best yet. Shakespeare County Raceway, near Stratford upon Avon, will again be the venue and is fully committed to making this a flagship event for the UK-Japanese scene for years to come and in 2006 MRC are going to be raising funds for Cancer Research UK with the event.
Even if testing your car in competition does not appeal, Rotorstock is a great place to meet up and relax with like-minded enthusiasts against a backdrop of petrol head action. Camping is free on the SCR site or on club stands.
We know the Bank Holiday can be a busy weekend but would like to welcome as many clubs as possible – whatever kind of Japanese car they represent. So, before the club diary for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May is full, all at Mazda Rotary Club would like to formally invite you to be part of this action packed, fun, weekend.
Please contact lisa@mazdarotaryclub.com for more information. You can watch http://www.rotorstock.com for latest developments and shortly you will be able to book tickets online there too.
Thanks for reading - we hope to see you there.
