Final question. The car also has had £1500 worth of reconditioned gearbox done by Silvia Engineering. I have read mixed stuff about them on this forum but would anyone have any concern about this?

 

Regardless off comments you may have read, there shouldn't be anything to be concerned about.

 

SE have gearboxes reconditioned by a specialist gearbox repair company.

 

Hairsy had his done and is happy with the rebuild.

 

I'm very pleased with my gearbox. I had the fast road rebuild done (if you have the receipt, that's what it's shown as) and the car is so much better to drive.

 

The work is guaranteed for a year provided a gearbox oil cooler was fitted. You can tell either from the receipt or by looking through the lower air intake in the front spoiler where you should see an oil cooler fitted.
