The car I am looking to buy has 225's on the rear. I know most have 240's. Are 225's acceptable?

Featured Replies

225 is the standard rear size in Japan. 245 is the standard size in the UK.

225 tyres is typical of a Japanese import car.

The 245 rear tyre setup is for the UK / European spec Z's.

It is not a problem to run 225 rear tyres but the larger rear tyre will aid stability at high speeds.

The Japanese cars have a 112mph speed limiter from the factory whereas the UK / European cars have 155mph top speed from the factory.

The alloy wheel size is different on the Jap cars, they use the same rear rims as the front.

Thanks again. This is a UK car. Is it possible to see a difference between UK rims and Japanese rims?

Have a look at Simon P's black Z in the rides section.

There's a quite a distinctive difference on the larger rear rims as the 5 star from the centre to the outside are thicker than the fronts.
