I think it's like this, if you have kids christmas is OK but if you don't then it's just a PITA.

It wouldn't be so bad if it only came around every 5 years. The thing that really grips my sh!t is that the retailers make a meal out of it. I mean, £3.50 for a single Christmas card!

 

I know one girl who spends about 1K on each of her 2 kids & she hasn't got a pot to p!ss in. Stupid huh, but she's a victim of the retail system.

 

The thing is, Christmas is supposed to be a celebration of Christ's birthday yet most people don't even believe in Jesus, so WTF?!!! Why do people do it? Have we all gone mad :confused: Lol

Christmas is a ****ing waste of time and money. It sucks!. A yearly ritual that you have to endure time after time....it's not just one day of the year, it's a 3 month mince!.....

 

...before ANYONE starts thinking I'm a Scrooge, I'd love to see the disgusting amounts of money spent on rubbish each year donated to charity.

 

I've asked anyone who's wanting to get me something for xmas this year to use that value and donate it to charity.

 

There's not much to like about it, the food, the expense, the awful music, the weather, the hype and the waste are all in crap.

 

I can get time off, see my mates and get drunk at any time of the year. The true meaning of xmas isn't actually to do that though is it. It's a religious festival, of which only about half the population take part in...as a religious festival.

My family live a long way way and it's nice to see them all and it makes an occasion of it.

Xmas winds me up really badly. All the expectation and being forced to be happy and enjoy it. Happyness and enjoyment come naturally and I just can't stand this expectation that YOU WILL ENJOY IT CAUSE IT'S CHRISTMAS.

Exactly. I am deffo not a Scrooge, just find the whole Xmas thing an out of propotion waste of space.

 

Also, if you don't like it, you still have to put up with it.

I love Christmas cos its over the top and silly. I like the really over the top decorations on houses. The mince pies and mountains of choccies. And the xmas pissups with work and mates. Bring it on!

I've nothing against Xmas per se, but the big buildup to the anti-climax is what gets me down. Plus I never get around to organsining anything until it's too late .. guess that's my real problem ....

I Love watching my kids open their presents I love the repeats on the tele

and I love getting hammered which I do rest of the year but at christmas there is more people out to party with.

I am finishing work at 5 and then i'm off till new year so can't wait straight out from work on the razzle :hyper: :hyper:

i enjoy it mainly for the getting pissed bit.........finish work at 12 tomorow then straight out on lager..........everyone is usually nice and merry this time of year......even the women!

My thought on Christmas have change dramaticaly since i have had my son. He's 4 now and its fookin great. Being in the Army we had a christmas party for the little ones and Santa came in a Helicopter, then gave prezzies out. My little boy went mad. I love it. I went to Rotterdam yesterday to get My Father in law in the morning and then Koln airport to get my Mum on the night so we can be together. When you loose perents etc... on the way in life Christmas is for togetherness. Just off to pull a cracker LOL. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Lets not fall out Si. But you have got to remember not everyone is as lucky as you to see their families all the year. Once a year people decide to spend THEIR money in large amounts so its their money and their choice?

 

So it seems to me that you are saying that we shouldnt indulge in merriments and excess because people elsewhere are going without? Thats very unfortunate but I aint going to work all year so as I can not enjoy time with my family and buy them gifts. :nono: it aint happening.
