Thought you were selling the Zed to fund a house? A3 is going to be about the same value isn't it?

  • Author

no i'm not selling to fund a house with the sale of the zed, I am selling to get rid of running costs of a 300zx to afford a mortgage month to month,

places around here are about 175k+ so the 4k i will get from a zed will probably buy me a new sofa and tv ;)

Quality cars, i've got the 2.0 DTI, had no faults, just see what you think of the cabin space when in drivers seet, oh and the centre arm rest gets in the way a bit when applying the hand brake, i'd say good choice.

A mate at work recently had an a3. Think it was a 2002. He had nothin but bother with it, and it cost him a packet. He sold it for a new 323 which he says is better, faster, cheaper....

If thats any help

good little cars but its only a mk4 golf with an audi badge!

prob better off getting a golf & saving a few quid!!

I've had a Passat 1.8T, A4 and a A3 1.8(non turbo) as company cars in the past. 30-35mpg average mpg, good build, nice to drive.

A3 does lack in the interior space department, notably rear leg room. We could'nt fit the kids Babyseat in the car, it had to go in the front!. Plus my Legs were always getting in the way of the steering wheel (Im 6ft 2"). Steering was responsive and quick, but lacking feedback, and the same applies for the brakes. But all-round good solid upmarket Hatchback.

It is one of the most expensive hatchbacks to run though, with Parts and servicing costs.

In fact, considering the A3 will cost at least an extra £1k - £2k to purchase over the zed selling price, it would be cheaper to run a Zed over the next year or two !!

The Golf is a better buy, with the slightly lesser prestige badge, but it does offer better rear leg room.
