BOV Fitting problem

Hi,

Went out today to fit the new Baileys BOVs which came. Took ages to get eveything off, and what a pain it was. When replacing everything. I thought I was done but forgot to put one of the caps on and tried to start it. It ran for a bit OK, then cut out. Fitted cap onto the correct hose, then all it does it start for 1/2 a second then cut out. Any ideas on the problem?

Thanks in advance,

OK got a bit more information. Took off the airbox etc to investigate. Started OK, tried to reconnect the airflow meter which made it cut out. When i give the car a bit of throttle while idling (without airflow meter) it sounds OK until it hits 2600 RPM. It then chugs away, looking at the BOVs the picton inside is moving OK, but how do I tell if they are operating the in the right direction. From what it sounds to me is that when I open more throttle, it uses more air, but if the pictoins are moving in the wrong direction then this would close it.

Another thing, I only used a small piece of the hosing from the vacuum (smallest hose), instead of using the full length. Should I have??

Hopefully, ill get there, stil need some help though. Dont want to give up and have to replace the old recircs again, hate defeat.

I would try that first... or maybe after making sure all vacuum lines are hooked up. It would atleast eliminate a problem with the AFM.

The valve should move in the direction of the vacume line when you come off the throttle if that makes any sense.

Hope you manage to sort it.

Managed to sort it. Didnt realise that I needed to have the hose connection which joins the 2 intake hoses towards the engine (the one above the airbox). That must have been why it was not working correct cos it works and sounds great.

My own fault, I always test things before I replace everything to make sure that I dont have to take it all off again.

Thanks for the info Dafox,
