Not sure if servicing costs have changed over the last year or so.

Sort the det sensor first before upping the boost !!!

Oh and was that you Indianzx I saw going through hounslow, gave me a big grin and I stuck my thumb up to ya !!!

to supply and fit decat exhaust (middle section only) and unsolder stock eprom, solder a socket, fit chip then boost jets (extremely cheap) or boost controller youre probably looking at £800 (jets) - £1200 (top of the range controller).

had my cats removed for £60

paid £350 for ecu and boost upgrade at zedworld (using boost jets)

not sure on the 60k service

det sensor. GET THIS DONE FIRST! why get the other stuff done if your det sensor is knackered?

zedworld "relocated" my det sensor to an easier place to access (rather than in the middle of the engine). i think i paid £90 plus the cost of the sensor.

hope this helps - gaz

So you only paid £90 for them to replace and move it or just to relocate it after it was fixed?

£75.............oh dear! :( :o

bird, i bought a new sensor which was then replaced into a different area of the engine bay (make sense???)

the relocation of the det sensor is like using a wet finger to measure wind speed!

To do it properly means engine removal I am afraid :(

just to clarify, as i aint any mechanic, is the det sensor located down in the "v" of the engine?

im sure mine melted when the headgasket blew, so rather then ripping the engine to bits it was just relocated somewhere else (obviously replaced aswell as relocated as original had melted).

the car was running in safety mode when i got it due to this sensor being knackered, however when it was relocated it did seem to run ALOT better.

i take it you dont think this is a good thing to do then?

It will run in safety mode if the det sensor is knackered and the ecu sends the engine into a protected mode which will lower the performance of the engine to prevent detonation!

Reattaching a working det sensor (irrelevant of it's position) will send the right signal to the ecu and this will go to back to operating the engine in the normal mode hence the boost in performance!

Attaching the detsensor to another position on the engine, means that it will not be working as it should, and really render it useless if not redundant!
