Just got my car back from its 60k service, well cambelt kit and aux belts ( I do my own fluid changes) but simply didnt have the time or the bravery for the cambelt job.

I can now floor the car with cofidence, not worrying that the belt may break, despite very strict servicing intervals, had its first cambelt at 80,000km and this one at 154,000km (approx 90,000 miles).

Best thing about it was the cost, I got the whole lot done for about £250, and didnt have to get my hands dirty!

Just need to change my oil this weekend (even though the last one was about 1,000 miles ago! and she'll be all ready to sit in the garage for the rest of the winter!!!!)

hi mate have u felt a difference what else did they do as mines is due now

you won't really feel a difference (especially if you're talking about the cambelt specifically - obviously a proper service will sort out little niggles) - it's preventative. Don't decide whether to get it done on the basis of performance - do it when it's due or now if you can't be sure it's been done!

The only performance increase is that you dare floor it without it blowing up!!!!

I was very impressed to see the state of the old belt, no cracks or signs of real wear, one of the old idlers was noisy though, so i have noticed a much quieter engine when cold, which i suppose makes sense.

i got my cambelt changed 3 months ago you should have seent he state of it it was ripped a little i had a lucky escape.

My Zed has just gone over 60,000 miles, and I didnt know if the cam belt had been changed, so I decided to play it safe and have the 60,000 service done. I gave the car to Jason at (http://www.southwestzeds.com) for the work needed. Old Cambelt showed signs of wear (cracking etc) they can 'go' without warning. Big relief and piece of mind knowing its been done now.

we had a z in @z-tech a couple of months ago, with lots of teeth missing on it,luckily no damage had occured,a cambelt was fitted when it was imported, which was non OEM made by gatorade,so always use NISSAN oem cambelts

Yet it was changed 3 months ago???

Have you done 20k a year????

Or do you just not know what you are talking about?????

i was talking about the rest of the service not the cambelt. i will be doing the whole service along with chip, decat and underdrive pulleys.

1st a lesson in PLURALS.

Its DECATS not DECAT, as there are 2!!!!

Its UNDERDRIVE PULLEY, not UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS, as theres only one of them!!!

As for the chip, you'll need someone else to do that unless you have your own eprom programmer and know how to write all the codes.

So i guess by "the rest of the service" you mean an oil and coolant change, and maybe the aux belts (power steering, air con, and alternator, in case you didnt know!)

....Hmmm i'd get some help doing it if i were you!!
