The car ive got has got chrome alloys on it, the chrome is not great (not helped by the last guy kerbing the wheels!!!) so im lookingat getting the wheels repaired and re finished....

any ideas on rough costs of kerbing repairs and a refinish.... is it going to be worth the effort or should i just start saving the pennys and get new wheels?

how bad is the chrome???

when i looked into doing mine, its not just a case of refurbing the wheels - its more likely you'll have to have them replated, which is £££££.

ring round a few plating places for some better advice - i found kent metal finishers (KMF) to be very helpful.

I've tried these because they are local to me (well they were before we moved last year ...) He will not do rechroming unless he's got the right "jig" for the wheel ... If your alloys are anything over 16" then you'll have a tough time finding a company who will rechrome them due to their size.

Good luck though and please let me know when you've found somewhere because I've got some Cadillac STS alloys to chrome ... (they're my dad's and 3 years in the Saudi desert has completely sandblasted the car and the alloys ...)

well there is also canon pyor shotblasting, they are not to far from me i cant remember if they chrome also i can check , but they do all the welsh rally wheels and some for the rac rally boys..

Hello there ,i now somewhere that could plate anything from a nut to a shooping trolley and its in kent but before i commit myself i would have to check if the back door is still open,if you know what i mean?Because i have moved to norwich but my bro still pratically lives on there doorstop.

im interested, the other place quoted about 95£ per wheel plus vat, including rim repairs from the last guy who couldnt park without hitting the dam kerb!!! :headvswal not sure i wanted to spend £400 to be honest, i mean the heels are nice but thats alo of cash, and they wanted an aditional £60 to remove and replace the tyres!

got a feeling we may be talking about the same place - did they do the almera that done the rounds last year, with pretty much everything chrome or gold plated???

oh and geeky, that seems quite a good price - not sure if you'll get it much cheaper than that?? if you think about what would go into replating something that size, its not a small job which is why mine still need doing!

mine might stay on hold for a while as well then by the look of it... shame as they spoil the look of the car.... still parking without hitting kerbs is a challenge, i mean its not like you can look out the window and see the f*&kers
