Hi, started zed this evening so i can let it run for a bit as i havn't drivin it for couple months started fine while it was running for approx 20mins all of sudden it started missfiring and cut out, so i restarted it but it was very hesitant to fire up and cut out again so i checked coilpacks, injecters, ptu made sure they were pushed in and tryed starting car again and now it turns over but wont fire up, i did notice i couldn't hear fuel pump buzz which you normally do when ignition is on all help/advice appreciated.

ok first guess here - does your Z have a series 1 or series 2 PTU? probably a 1 judging by the year of your car.

series 1, but would the ptu go all of sudden, i do have spare one so will check also will do usual checks.

series 1 are pretty notorious for failing. they can just decide to cut out on you, although the application of cold water over it tends to keep it going for a while longer (enough to get you home!). try swapping with another one.
