Im possible looking at having my car resprayed early next year. Not sure if to keep it to the standard Nissan red, or try something different. Possibly a Ferrari Rosso red? I think someone has already got a 300 in rosso red?

Any ideas on shades? wont be any trick/flip colours.

Pete,

Have you any panels painted yet?

Barry.

Good timing this thread!! I spent a while in the bodyshop today after the last piece arrived. (99 spec spoiler. cheers Chris ;) ) went through loads of red colour cards and still havn't made up my mind :(

I wanted candy apple but they can't do it. Audi have some nice new reds aswell. I've got about two days left. I might be going Craigs colour. But I don't want to be a copycat :D .

I'd go for a really really really dark red. Thats how mine is sprayed. ;)

But seriously....the best red has to be Candy Apple red.

But Avoid any shade that turns orange under street lighting

Bazza, yours looks like its already had a recent respray, from the pics !

Thanks for that, would it suprise you if I told you that its a 1990 UK car and thats it original paintwork, apart from bumper and side skirts. It has the odd blemish, a bit of laquer flaking, so hoping to bring it back up to new.

Laquer, on a non-metallic paint?

Doesn't sound original to me.

But if the laquer is peeling it points to a seperate clear top coat?

Standard, single colour paints don't use a clear-coat.

I personally dont know anything about paints..but I know that the standard red zed colour does have a clear top laquer coat..as I have seen it peeling on other red zed's.

but isnt there at least 3 Nissan z reds?

there is where i work about 10 shades of red zs:rofl:

The k11 micra red is a base and clear colour !!

As for a BRIGHT RED if you,ve watched american hot rod , Boyd Coddington developed a red for hotrods and its sooooo bright and its now a recognised colour which you can have mixed , whether its available over here i,m not sure but it is a nice colour :D
