is there anyone who knows of anyone who has a spare drivers window relay.

or can someone send me a diagram to check for possible faults... preferably with pics.. my wiring is rubbish at the best of times.

PS its not the motor!!! i know that.

John,

It's probable the out going contact on the PCB within the window modual. This is what happened to mine, it drove me mad trying to find the fault. I found I had a dry joint where the contact solders onto the PCB, I can't remember which one at the mo, but will try and find my original post about it.

Right, here we go, it wasn't on this forum, it was on 300zxclub.com :x:

I've just fixed my drivers side one. it was an intermittent fault.

The short version...... The 'Clicking' noise in the door panel will be the relays within the window modual, so your switch works! You'll need to take the door panel off, and unscrew the modual from the door. Next, using a small flat bladed screwdriver, prise open the front of the box, after taking the wire plug off, and withdraw the PCB.

Using a multimeter, clip one lead to a good ground point on the door, reconnect the plug to the PCB and, whilst pressing the window switch, touch the GREEN wire terminal, and see what you get. Now change the direction of the switch and check the meter. Then do the same for the wire directly below the GREEN (I forget what colour it is). If you have voltage for each wire (depending on switch direction), then it will probably be the window motor at fault. If you don't have voltage, check for a 'Dry Joint' on the PCB (this was the fault with mine), if you can't find a dry joint, then you'll need a replacement modual.

EDIT** This modual ONLY affects the DRIVERS window!!
