ok, looking for some feedback from members with coilovers......who has what make/model fitted, how do they compare for ride and handling on various settings compared to stock....etc

Im concerned about ride quality. I expect and welcome a firm ride, but I dont want a "crashy", "rough", "harsh" ride. Dont want to feel and hear every little road imperfection as it bangs and rattles the interior trim.

I supplied TEIN's to Deve8 he loves them drop him a PM

Keep an eye on the spring rates, obviously the higher rate, the stiffer the ride!! ;)

Presumably, the adjustablity for Rebound/firmness that coilovers provide, allow you to make the ride stiffer than the spring rates gives..but not softer ?

Dave, I was looking into this myself recently with coil overs but the honest home truth question was told to me at my garage who prepare a lot of the rally cars for the Tour of Cornwall rallys down here.. No point in having coilovers because are you really gonna be jacking the car up every 5 mins adjusting it's ride height??? You'd be better off going for the Eibach Pro Springs as they are progressive and will make the ride stiffer but not so much that it will hurt your arse!!!

Thanks jon, although it was more for the fact that they are far higher engineered, with matching Springs and Shocks with rebound and other adjustablity for the track, rather than ride heigher adjustablity that I was interested in.

The EDFC system for the Tein Coilovers are tempting. Being able to make adjustments in the car

I believe the KYB AGX shocks with Eibachs is probably the best setup without going for coilovers, and I have Eibach pro springs now but Im really after the best you can get (depending on budget :() in terms of handling and ride.

I agree wth you on that!!! Just got the latest demon tweeks motorsport catalouge and read about the Tein system - Lovely system!!! :hyper:

If you do go for the KYB Shocks as well, let me know how you get on as i'm looking into doing this mod next year.. I've heard lots of good stuff about KYB shocks and the've been reccomended to me by my garage... ;)

I think there was a post some time ago on this subject. It was talking about getting all the suspension properly tweaked by professionals. The person who had it done reckoned it was the best money he'd spent on his Zed, and really made a difference to the handling.
