Right guys...2006 is approaching quicky and thats a whole new year of Meets :hyper:

For January I would like to start with a straight forward meet, such as a Pub somewhere in Gloucestershire - I need suggestions from those that live there...

The Haynes Meet went very well and for 2006 I'd like to incorporate some events.

- Karting

- Rolling Road

- Track Day(s)

- Summer BBQ

- Evening Meal out (Indian/Chinese..etc)

We will also have the National Meets to attend, where we can get together and Convoy to them.

I'd like to hear some ideas.......

The Bumble Bee in Gloucester....nice place although parking might be a mare as the car park there is always full.

How about somewhere in Cheltenham.

Summer BBQ/camp weekend would be good. Somewhere on the north Devon coast around June time? Be a nice family day out.

the hope and anchor in ross again

Great pub, but whats the Inside like..in terms of fitting us all in, during a busy sunday?. I seem to remember it being pretty small (compared to its grounds), I may be wrong ?

It was great last time, but dont think we'll be enjoying the weather in January.

Kev and I can do the Ross meet @ the Hope, and I have one in store

at the waterski club possably in the summer at Cirencester Water Park

In talks with Cybernet for a Joint SW/SE meet at Beaulieu Motor Museum. Probably February.

I'd make it a bit towards the end of Spring Dave, it'll be far nicer to go down in good, possibly warm weather than a cold damp winter's day....just a thought.

Anymore meet/event suggestion ideas ?

I'd love to see a weekend meet, i mean all meet up early saturday, drive a nice distance through nice roads not motorways, plenty of showing off, a night at a cheap B&B then to a BIG meet on the sunday, and home later that night.

think that would be awesome

Becuase I felt it was conflicting and confusing, but I only made it more confusing by removing it LOL , I've put it back. ;)

Have forgotten about us down here then!!!

Not at all Ray, Im looking for suggestions from all SW members.

Im also hoping to setup a Big SW meet, somewhere central perhaps even making a weeking of it, to get us all together. Probably in the summer months.

Plus multiple monthly meets, where we have 1 nearer bristol, and 1 nearer Cornwall for some months. Not everyone would attend both, but at least everyone is covered and all have the choice as to which they attend.

North Devon Summer camp I think Dave!! I think that would be a great weekend.

hi all, there is sumthing i have noticed and thats every meet the SW has, its always miles and miles for us salisbury/southampton lads, theres loads round here to do, paintballing, thruxton go karting, another indoor karting, 192 pubs in salisbury yippy. Just a suggestion boys

I agree....and its something I would like to address for 2006. Im thinking about dual meets in a month with different locations..not everyone would attend both, but they will cater for all.

Looking at a possible Joint meet in February with the South East guys at Beaulieu Motor Museum which is near you in the New Forest between Bournemouth and Southampton.

I get the general feeling that the SW region is just way too big. The old car club I used to be a member of had a South Central region, covering Dorset, Hampshire & Wiltshire as well as a South West region which covered Cornwall, Devon & Somerset.

so where did gloucestershire fit in that lot

you trying to get rid of me ? :x:

LOL just kidding. More Glouc meets on the way, as well as Cornwall&Devon...and Dorset direction. :)

Cheddar Gorge would be nice in the summer too !

TBH, i love driving my zed to meets, but i worked out that i spent loads in fuel for all the meets, and as i look bac through the SW meets i see that the meets normally are located round the more frequent users and more commonly known places, which im not saying is a bad thing, but i think trying new things is sumthing we can try next year to get more people involved.
