ok wwhy have things like post counts been removed i ask this for a couple of reasons how the feck are we supposed to gauge if a member asking a question is a newbie a long term user or some complete ass fecking around well i gues were not going to be able to now cheers one and all putting it to a vote would have been acceptable but no this has become a bigbrother nanny state forum so ok this thread aint about the zed whats going to happen am i going to get banned for having an opinion and not wanting to keep it to myself looks to me like a lot of people are going to disagree with what i have put here but to be quiet honest i dont care. so if all the moderators and comitee would care to inform me if im allowed to get up and go to the toilet of my own free will oops supose thats another ban coming my way. so people take your heads out of your asses and sort it out we live in a democracy not under a dictaitorship ah but then again this is http://www.300zx.co.uk were not allowed to have opinions we are just the members hey we have lost some good members recently and yes we all know why looks like im going to be joining them outside the "prison" walls well thats how it seems in here now

Not always the case. A lot of 'knowledgeable' members only post in the tec sections, so their post count will be lower than a regular who likes to use the general discussion and chit chat forums for regular banter and what have you.

For example, I have 2,000 posts or something, but know very little about Zeds. Other experienced members who have been on here for years only have a few hundred and know a lot of valuable information.

So maybe take a chill pill and enjoy the forum as it's still a very good forum. ;) :)

Enjoy the forum!!!.

We keep getting told we are not allowed to do this, or that ...changes are made without consulting the people that pay subscriptions..

It does seem slightly dictatorish...

I can not see how a post count or time of membership has any bearing on whether person A gets help or not. If someone needs help they need help.

There are many members that contribute to this club thru their knowledge that have a small post count. Most of their help being done by p.m or phone.

People are only moderated, when they lack the self judgement to do it themselves IMO.

This club is a democracy we all have the option to cast our votes as to who makes the decissions. We may or may not like the decission they make, but it is theirs to make. If every aspect of this club was open to a public vote can you imagine the time it would take to reach any conclusion.

I can not see anyone getting banned for an opinon. only if they break the club rules or continue to cover the same ground in their point of view, without moving forward.

Removal of post counts aint particulary bad IMO. It reduces the need to post rubbish to up your own post count, effectively stopping post whores, who appear to live for high post counts and not the content of their posts.

 Too much fuss and whining being made lately.

The date they registered or joined still shows,Surely that determines if they are a newbie or not!!! :o

its not just the removal of the post counter that is annoying people its the fact that everything is being dicated to us we can do this or we cant to that ok yes i can see that there is a need for guildlines at least but not rules to the extent that there is on here i am sure if we all wanted to be dictated to of what we can and cant do we would have all joined the army!! i thought part of a car club was to be able to get on with everyone . at the minuite i honestly can not see how that can be done with all the *****x that is going on with people being banned for no reason or quite simply telling some one to do to hell so what ! i would have thought we were all old enough and mature enough to have a comment like that go over our heads just simply bannng people because u dont like a comment seems childish ( and i thought i was one of the youngest on here) how far is this dictatorship going to go ?

This is not a dictatorship - the committee are elected annually by the subscribed members. If someone breaches the Acceptable Use Policy they will get a ban - simple as!

that to me is saying we are not allowed to have an opinion as it seems that if some one does not like what was said we get banned i mean why did astrassuck get banned just because he told mike groves to go to hell !!! i dont want to start an argument with any one nor do i want a ban as i enjoy this forum as much as everyone all i am doing is stating my opinon and i feel like i ma going to get bollxed for it same as astrassuck did so i shall hold my tounge and say no more on the matter

Ask Ben what he posted at 01:16 and then edited at 01:30 - I think this was probably the reason for the ban..

i saw what he posted as i have been talkin to him since 5 am but as i said i shall say no more on the matter

well you would know if theyre a newbie because the join date is still there. and does it really matter if theyre a newbie or not before you reply to a question?

Thats quite poor IMO if you would only reply to long term or 'high posting' users

Ben has been banned? :(

What is this place coming too?

Glad I didn't pay my subs now, I think I had my best years from this place a long long time ago TBH.

z_evo_guy yup, you are another one of the reasons this place is being moderated,

Enjoy the forum!!!.

actually, action has been taken to stop this place being seen as a playground,

That may be the case but the perception is different...perhaps if people were told what was being done and why then the reaction would be different. Just my opinion...

Hello you have a lot of posts, but most of them were shite post whoring attempts, in my opinion length of membership out weighs number of posts and that has been left on the forum, just because someone has made more posts or been around longer however doesnt make them any more valuable than a member who joins today after just buying a car.

hello timmy :D hows scotland, i hear you are visiting freinds and family :)

My name is Rick 300TT and thou shalt know me only as! ;) Shhhhhhhh!!! :hyper:

Hello Timmy.

Alright mate, me name is Rick...who's this Timmy geezer?? :D I hear that he's a legend in the community and has been banished from this wonderful place for eternity!!! LMFAO :D

For what its worth Getting rid of post count was an excellent move IMO :D

firstly, i think its content of posts, not post count, that matter

secondly, i think that when things are done without consultation or pre-warning, people will get uptight because they expect to be told.

thirdly, i don't understand why a week or so ago there were about 20 threads all containing bullshit that whilst slightly funny for a time, soon became annoying and stopped general conversation. how was this allowed??

I have kept quiet for a while and having been a member on here for some time I can safely say that there is too much SH1T posted nowadays on this forum, and its dead easy to name the culprits, although I'm not going to. ;)

What Mike is doing here is for the greater good of this club as far as I am concerned, less sh1t and more intellectual subjects, and not just cars.

Well said above and done mike......  The longer you own the car, the greater your knowledge increases even if you dont do the work yourself.
