The version s had Recaro seats, and as far as I know was a 1999-2000 model only

You mean this one? Although I thought it was a 'version R'.

It is.

IIRC there is a "300ZX", a "Version S" and a "Version R".

"Cough"... ahem..

The version S was introduced in October 1994.

The version S Recaro was the one with the Recaros (clearly).

The Version R 2+2 was introduced on Jan 16th 1997.(in midnight Purple...new colour).

Taken from Brian Longs Datsun 280/Nissan 300 book.

Table in rear shows the different Vin numbers for all models. This is the only real way to identify a version S.along with its date on manufacture/reg in Japan.

HTH

Don't know the differences, so I'll just have one of each please :D

Version R 2by2, available in Twin Turbo or N/A

Version S 2by2, available in Twin Turbo and N/A

And the 300ZX 2by2, also available in Twin Turbo or N/A

HTH ;) .... Oh! 1999 versions.

Cool! Never knew any of them came withough rear spoilers from the factory.:)

most of the NA's ive seen are spoiler-less, I guess the spoiler was an option on the NA.

Only the TT had a spoiler as standard.

The 300ZX was originally designed to be without a spoiler but it was decided to add one after high-speed trials showed a little 'lightness' of the rear end.

(That's why it's only small. There for a purpose rather a pose!)

version s = s for slow!!!

version s = s for slow!!!

 Its a Zed, not an Mr2!

yep, them mr2's are for girls, just like NA's

I would say from the lack of an answer on here, no-one really knows for sure. But, if you can read Japanese, then take a look here, it gives you all the specs for the '99 year. But as it's the Japanese Nissan site, there could be a language problem here ;)

Brian Long's book has no details of model differences, but states that eng/transmission were unchanged.

Thats all I know.

Remember these cars were not sold new here, so there is no English literature from Nissan on them.

94 onwards cars are much less common here at present , so there is no great pool of knowledge in the club about these subtle differences.

Im sure all the info is on Jap 300ZX sites but I have no personal knowledge of where or how to access it.

Sorry I cant do better! :(
