First there was excitement, that turned to fear, fear turned to enjoyment. 120 miles later .....absolute pride ;)

First time I gave it some was with Boldy going to work!-then he bought one! ;)

Oh yes that did it for me :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Bought mine , first place was to get some petrol , pulled in tried to turn engine off , won,t switch off :headvswal oh fook i thought already got a problem  Yeh you,ve guessed it had a tubby timer and he didn,t tell me about it :slap: :slap:

Easy with the right foot james. Dont forget to take a few quid for juice. You'll need it because if your like most of us you wont want to stop for fuel once the cruising starts bud.

Cheers mate - i've already made plans for that lol

following advice from this forum, got a buffer of £1k if anything goes wrong plus an understanding bank manager for fuel ;)

When I drove my first one I thought I'd see how fast it would go on the way home, it went very fast much to my enjoyment, then something went pop and it was the start of many months of trouble, later a home engine rebuild, and later still, another pop and eventually got rid of it.

When I first drove the one I have now I thought I'd see how fast it went too, but this time on the test drive. It went very,VERY fast and didn't go pop and never has! So after a good ragging I went and bought it! Best decision I've ever made, it came up for sale on the forum and an hour later me and the missus were on a 400mile round trip to have a look. I knew after speaking to TonyC (the original owner) that I was going to buy it.

Drove mine back from basingstoke at the beginning of an extremely fooking freezing january..no heater...froze my bo**ocks off all the way home to chester but my god it went like stink on those a roads!! Had to bury the gas and see what she could do!!

picked the car up from Derby, the dealer said be "carefull its very powerfull car, someone bought one last week and wrapped it round a tree" i thought do one mate im not a laydee you know.........

...... i stalled it three times before ide even gt out of the garage :headvswal

then on the motorway on the way home i remember a subaru trying to get in my boot and then trying to overtake me on the inside lane. so i floored itand watched him disapear in the mirror. :D

only then i realised just what a great car ide purchased. dick-dack-doo

My first day was yesterday. Driving like a granny most of the way. Opened it up a few times though. I know what you mean with Johndps's twin turbo, great car so had to buy it. Opened it up once on a straight, tail came out in the pissing rain but just eased off and let it control itself and drove like a granny once again. Girlfriend shit herself though.

Pretty much grinning all the way though. Love the Z now.

Just waiting on some good weather, has been lashing down with rain since I got the car. Not really used the "hold on" button.

Congrats on the new z  dave.

I was up in Dundee 2 years ago, nice town. Drove all the way up from kent and back again, lol. Twas a long, long drive.

:D

Picked up my ZX a month ago. I had a strange urge to laugh all the time going from Southampton to Birmingham. I was timid driving it back home with a few pedal to the metal sessions on the M40. I felt king of the road, and i still do :)

I really opened up the ZX going from Leiceseter to Birmingham last night. On the M69 i was laughing my head off like a crazy man.

  • 1 month later...

Saw mine on the side of the road, it was black, i'd never even thought of buying one till that day. I was going to buy a diesal mundeo till then :)

Bargained the chap down from 3300 to 3000 and throw in the brand new radio and took it for a test drive. My god what a car :D

I'd had a supra mkiii before and that was special but this was so much better.

Gave him the cash then had a meeting with a client so had to get to his quickly so took the roof off (cause that makes it go faster obviously doh!) and the first junction i came up to had a gorgeous blond in a ka waiting to get out, i let her out being the true gent i am and got a big grin and a wave to say thank you (and that was the last woman to even look at the car in that way! what is it about zeds? no women even notice them).

On the way back from the meeting it was a late summer aftrenoon, roof off, sun setting cruising down the M1 and i was toally loved up with the car, awesome machine.

We've had a couple of fallings out in the wet about overtaking people (the NA autos don't like overtaking in the wet on full acceleration, they go sideways at 40!) but i still love my fair lady z and looking forward to spending my second summer driving her :D

definately all of the above, and looking for places to let me hear the BOV@s echo !!!

bought mine from essex, drove 3 hours back to telford and "WASTED" a renault 21 turbo who thought he was hard, did 160mph om the M40 !!!!, and yes it can do 160mph before you ask  , renaullt bottles out at 130 !!!

WICKED, used £50 worth of petrol too....... worth it though :hyper:

I still do D,E,F. Sometimes "C" too :D

did 160mph om the M40 !!!!, and yes it can do 160mph before you ask
...and then quite a bit more ! (apparantly ;))

5 1/2 years since I got my zed  I remember it well though, I was over the moon with it :). I'd never experienced that amount of power before so I did take it easy, especially in the wet!

 first day in my zed took an n/a out for a spin thought yes i like the power ( used to having a bike GPZ 750 Turbo ) took my wife to view one she liked it went to fetch it on my own and came back with a TT model which she loved until she drove it needless to say it scared her  Now its my daily driver and once its warmed up its driven like it was meant to be toast everything you can see :x:

with my NA, I drove back from Newcastle in a glorious autumn day with the sun shining. Blatting down the A1 was fantastic.

with my TT, I did about 500miles on the first day I got it. Made great use of the turbos that day :D Didn't get home till 4am the following day!

I got mine in the middle of october last year, it would have to be (G) and i still do it now. The best bit tho was on the motorway for the first time, letting a car go past with everyone looking at me, with a massive grin on my face, then speeding up and catching it (with ease) waving at them then speeding off.

Another good one is when corsas (boy racers) meet u at the lights, they sit there reving their engine, then they burn off when the lights go green, there smiling because they think theyve beaten me, leave it for a minute then put my foot down, honk on the horn as i go past then leave them in the dust never to be seen again.
