Hey Russ!!! As much as I like it i'm gonna advise you NOT TO DO IT!!!

 

You really wanna go for Powder coated gold or a polished plenum cause Black is a colour that absorbs heat and the Z engine runs hot enough as it is without that extra black absorbing stuff on top of it!!!

 

Why do you think the Mclarren F1 engine is coated in gold??? Gold is the best heat reflector out there and no we'renot talking 24 carrott although it would be nice, just a normal shiny gold powder coat would look smart and give you better heat reflecting properties, a cooler engine and performance gains!!! ;)

thanks for the advice, but it will only absorb infa red if I leave the bonnet up ;)
