Can we say, "It runs"?

Yes we can!

Many thanks to Leigh (again!) who came round tonight and helped me manhandle the last bit of loom into place..

Well done mate. You have done somthing that I wouldnt even attempt.

What else needs doing on it now?

Well chuffed for you.

How is she running? Dont for get considering that it aint been started for a while that is fantastic.

When you gonna driver her?

Stuart

Thanks m8 smile.gif

Well I need to put the fan cover back on (so I dont slice my fingers off!), which means unbolting the auto transmission cooler lines (so I can also check that it's cooling properly), and put the interior back together (we had to pull a lot of stuff out to get the loom in place)..

I'm hoping to drive her at the weekend, maybe pootle around first and check that there's no major fluid leakage, and then take her for a good run smile.gif

She runs lovely, really tappety at first (hasn't been started since October remember!), but now, sweet as a nut smile.gif

Bar the PlusGas (dismantling oil) burning off the downpipes.. Lol.. Worrying at first! smile.gif

Nice One matey.... Nice OnE!!!!!!

Glad she fired up smile.gif

FANTASTIC! Well done Aaron, I know the effort you've put into getting the car back on the road.

What you need is a nice run to Kent at the weekend, just to check everything's okay wink.gif

Glad you'll be able to enjoy driving the Zed now, and it can start to pay you back for all those hours of hard work.

Tim

Stuart - it blew a water hose, I *think* one of the turbo coolant feeds.. So I took the opportunity to replace all the small rubber coolant hoses, taking the inlet manifold off in the process..

Which meant braking a few connectors mad.gif and having to replace the wiring loom (it was already missing it's CAS connector)..

Now all I need to do is bolt the interior back together (and the drivers seat back in! lol), and she's good to go..

Nice one Aaron !!

-Eric

PS: have you decided what you're going to do with the 300km/h speedo yet ?? wink.gif

Thanks everyone smile.gif

I forgot one other problem - when you rev it, the revs drop right off before picking up again, and it idles too high (900rpm), so I think I need to check & reset the base idle, spray the AAC valve assy, and check & reset the TPS (and the timing too probably)..

Eric - yeah I'll take my clocks out soon and check the connectors on the back, see if they are the same as yours smile.gif

Bloody well done that man! wink.gif

Hopefully the good Z times to come will out weigh the pain and suffering my friend...GOOD EFFORT!

Well done, hope she behaves herself for you! How did u get a new wiring loom? Did you buy it new? Those connectors are bloody useless aren't they!

Well done mate !!!!!

We've been talking about this moment on MSN for bloody ages. Glad its happened. What you've achieved is incredible. biggrin.gif

Andy

I think I spoke too soon frown.gif

Went out tonight, started the car, turned her round, looked underneath....

something is pi55ing out from more or less the centre of the engine, about level with the back of the front wheels (bulkhead sort of area)..

Az...you lock them razor blades in the cupboard and throw away the key yer hear???

What fluid is pissing out? Coolant? Oil etc.???

Mate!

sig.gif

Not entirely sure.. either coolant or ATF.. I *think* ATF.. maybe the cooler hoses have blown off or something.. Not sure as yet..

Need to get it up on jack stands again and spend some more time under it on my back..
