Fitting a mini-transformer to get more power from high level brake lights.

Please excuse the long thread title.

 

Wanting to fit very high power bulbs for my high level brake light. Now I've got the perspex panel and the 6 (I think it's 6) bulbs behind that.

 

Thing is, they are so faint. Been told they are 13w and high power bulbs could not be fitted.

 

So what I was thinking, is there a way of fitting a small step up transformer inline to the input so I can run high power bulbs?

    Sorry, what I meant to say was, no body does these bulbs any brighter than 13w.....so could I mod the holders to fit bulbs of a higher wattage?

     

    Scrap the idea of the transformer...

     

    BTW, can you guess that I know nothing about electrics? :rofl:
