"Tim, completely off-topic, but why do you want to do PADI? PADI is the American version of BSAC and unless it's changed in the last 2 months, doesn't always include the First Aid training, which is why a lot of BSAC places won't accept PADI people unless they complete this training first.
Where as BSAC is accepted anywhere as it is generally considered to be better than PADI and yes even some of the American groups say this."
This is a long running argument between PADI and BSAC, Again its like Sups And Z guys hehehe. The way i see BSAC different to PADI is the continuos training. Ive been diving now for about 5 years. I am Advanced open water, but only have paid for the 2 courses ive done, if you notice, most people went PADI as you didnt have to join a club and keep paying and training just to dive. BSAC saw this and bought out a new course that is just a one off payment to get a diving ticket, this was due to them loosing alot of money to PADI. I mean, would you if you wanted to drive your NEW ZX with fat arse wheels etc etc wana have to go out every Tue & Thur Night on drvining leasons?? just so you can drive your car??
same sort of thing really, i have a group of guys and girls i dive with, we dive where and when we want.. again people say oh but what about first aid if there is an accident, did you do a first aid course on ya driving test?? you never know you might have an accident!! at the end of the day, if your under the water your under there
As to BSAC accepted anywhere, i think this is slightly incorrect, ived dived in many a country, Including Rhodes Turkey Florida Malta Furventura Teneriefe Mexico Cuba and all have taken PADI have only seen a few BSAC.
Am diving this sunday temp its 3.5° hehehe and yes Dorothea is a bit glim hehehe. Am doing Wookie Hole this year and also Dodoin ( i think its spelt like that) in France cave diving kewl huh??
