Just been looking through some old car photographs, and came across a couple of my old cars.

My first 2.8i Capri, LVP 48X, this was taken at Badgers Hill, Sheriffs Lench, Evesham, sometime back about '91. She had just been re-sprayed back to her original Colbalt Blue over Strato Silver, with the thin twin stripes and polished Pepper Pot alloys as it would have come out of the factory back in 1981 (first 2.8i production year) I'd brought it with a body kit fitted, which was hiding some accident damage .....

And another one of her taken at my (then) home in about '93/94. Still looking good, except for a light rusting area between the lower front valance and off side wing....

Now this one is my second 2.8i Capri, a later 1984 version. The only, subtle, difference (from this view) is that the striping is thick over thin. The other main difference is that the interior was vellor Recaro seating and door trims, as opposed to the tarten, and slightly less plush looking, interior of the earlier '81/82 cars....

lol, as per my previous post, the manta gte was one of

my all time faves, had mine in 'barryt' brown, a real light

brown metallic, sounds shite, but looked real nice.

Just wish i could find a photo of it!

I know the colour you mean and it did look good on the Manta. Doesn't suit every car, but it certainly suited that.

I have had a few cars too, here is what I can remember:

1. Peugeot 205 1.1

2. Fiesta XR2i

3. Vauxhall Nova (dont start)

4. Fiat Bravo below:

5. Escort Convertible (very nice leather, but still an escort)

6. Escort Gti still got the number plate but on another car (surname is Gruar  )

And the current 3:

Peugeot 206 1.1 (company car)

Shitroen C2 VTS (Gfs runaround)

Ofcourse the Z

My pride and joy when I was 18 was my Cavalier Calibre, they were launched before the 'calibra'. Although many always asked why it had a Calibre sticker on the side :xxx:

Basically based on the Mk2 cavalier SRI130, but Aston Martin/Irmscher took 500 of these cars and gave them a bit of a makeover. All are red with the black stripe, limited interiors and tweeked suspension. Rare as fook and I cant remember the last time I saw a real one!

Must admit they do look a bit boxy and not the car I would drive now, in the 80's they were bang up to date! Ended up on twin 48's. Not Z power but a serious cossy killer back then!

I can remember Mandy from the Calibre owners club, but cant think of her hubbys name, Paul Maybe????

I went to 2 Billing shows with it, cant think of the years now, Id be guessing at '97 and '98??

Mine was lowered as much as gravity let it and had 15" TSW Stealths on, Oh and the obligitory Renault Laguna front splitter  I took the antracite Calibre stickers off after a mate backed into the rear of mine and ripped a great gash from the bumper.

I really used to like that car! :D

Good to be reminded of them

One of my friends has a Cavalier Calibre. I helped him fit a Calibra Turbo engine to it last summer with a 6 speed box. Goes very well now. :)
