Looking for some help on where to get a new battery.

Woke up this morning went down to start the car and just got a gentle clicking sound - dead battery I did manage to get it going with jump leads.

I have drained the battery a couple of times over the summer and have not been driving long distances so no chance to charge the battery.

I have a Jap spec car qand I seem to recall reading a post that said the terminals are the wrong way round. Can anyone shed any light please?

Thanks

Ivan

I've got a j-spec, and if I remember correctly, it's an 058 battery in mine. The trminals do sit towards the rear, but not a problem.

drive to a battery seller - such as Swedish and German. take the old battery off the car, walk in with it and ask for one the same size (approx), same terminal positions etc etc, pay your money, walk out and fit new battery... Bosch Silver - every three years.

Good luck

Believe it or not in my many years of motoring I have managed to purchase and fit several new batteries - I wasn't looking for any help at all on the exchange of cash for goods part of the process. :headvswal

What I was looking for was information on whether the Jap spec cars had different batteries from UK spec and would I have any difficulty sourcing one.

i've just been quoted on a battery i think it's either a 068 or 069 standard battery and a 072 is the heavy duty one for a uk car and i think jap spec is the same

Ivan - I do appologise.

I only have knowledge of Jap NA's - and I've had 3 batteries in the Z i've just sold - and each was a different size (all Bosch Silver) and ampage, and my current battery (97NA) is under a plastic casing so I've no idea what it is.

Good luck

mines an exide type 89 jap spec battery, from my mates tyre/batt.exhaust place

Exide, must be Tyre Sales, Kwick Fit or Motorworld then.

Exide are multi fit batteries, that are more tailored to size than Ah and CCA, I wouldnt fit one to my zed.

Bosch Silver are very good batteries and thayve not long bought a new range out called Bosch Asia, these are black in colour and cater for the jap market, and have all the high power ratings that jap cars demand. They also have a 4 year guarantee.

I dont know the bosch numbers for zed batteries, but i know the uk codes are 069 for uk and 068 for jap any bosch agent will be able to convert these to a bosch asia number.

mine was dead this morning, second time its happened, so went and got a new one.

not sure of the brand name but its FIAMM approved and comes with a 3 year guarantee. Think it was an '069' number even though its JDM.not fussed really, gotta be better than that Halfrauds cr@p that was on there already!!

£54.95 inc Vat, no arguments with the cold spell on its way.
