I've done some searching but couldn't find help,

I have same symptoms as here

Been having this and related problems for some time now. My autobox seems to be "slipping" but not consistently. What usually happens is I'm stopped at a junction or stuck in traffic for a while. Try to accellerate away (normally, not flooring it) and the box loses most power and shifts up really far up the rev range. Once the car is driving along and I back off the accellerator momentarily all is well and I've got full power back again.

I've also noticed that the box sometimes is reluctant to shift from 2nd to 3rd until quite high up the rev range and also refuses to engage O/D for quite some time. Eventually O/D is engaged but usually only when I've backed off the accellerator again.

Then today I started noticing a loss of power when I'm going round a roundabout. This is most noticeable when you're exiting the roundabout and want to continue in a straight line. The box then looses power in the same way as described in the first paragraph above. I can replicate this fault at every roundabout.

I must stress this only happens when the engine is cold, I'd say after 10-15 min drive it goes away,

I've checked the fliud, seems clear, no burning smell.

If anything it's over filled, just measured it in cold and it's showing both cold an warm side in clear red but the warm side is darker red than the clear side, that's the only difference.

I'm thinking if I overfilled it, why is it coming up with these problems now, i've been driving it for quite a while without this happening. HELP

this describes some of my symptoms having changed the transmission oil and fitted an autobox oil cooler upgrade. it only happens when cold so was wondering if it is due to recent cold snap. If anything my box is slightly overfilled too. No burnt oil, no metal bits just weird shifting

Thoughts anyone?

Guys the latest my box is shot, has lost reverse and is making a horrible noise. This slipping describe in the thread was the start of the demise. I Will contact ryan for advice on replacement. What else should I do if the box is out?

yep, sounds exactly like what happened to mine. Mine is currently being repaired (under warranty, thank fook). Although they did say that they couldn't find anything wrong with the box or torque converter when the took it all apart. Theyre still putting a new box and converter on it tho.....

Mines currently with Ztech having the Autobox rebuilt.

Mine has always been slow to change up whan cold, generally I switch transmission to HOLD position (J Spec only I think) and it pulls away in second.

Never a prob at any other time.
