why does my rear washer button (the one that pushes down) activate the front washers and vice versa.

In order to clean the windscreen I have to push the rear washer button down at the same time it activates the rear wiper and then I have to switch on the front wipers to clean, so the rear wipers always have to work aswell, theres no way round it :confused: HELP

 

 

p.s. the washers work other way around only, not the wipers

The wiring on the pumps has been switched round or the pipes have been fitted to the wrong pump for some reason, they live next to each other in the washer bottle (2+2 model). just swap them back, easier said than done tho. the washer bottle is behind the RH intercooler.

simple job on a SWB as the bottle is in the LH rear corner of the boot. Remove trim panel to gain access.
