HI peeps, recently have had my engine fully rebuilt, since then it has been leaking oil like there is no tomorrow, have had a quick look under the car to check the obvious places like.... sump plug, oil fiter and pressure switch(wich dont work by the way) and is all dry as bone....

any ideas where the oil could be vanishing to?

are you sure its engine oil were exactly have you seen oil stains it could be power streering/transmission oil, if engine oil check cam seals you have to take cover off front, ive got a small leak as well mine i think is one of streering pipes, best thing is to find were oil stains are look around that area.

When you say oil leak, do you mean 'using oil' or 'loosing oil', the latter being quite obvious. If the oil is disaapearing from your engine with no visible signs of a leak, then its being burnt, and blown out the back. Any smoke, lots of it I should think if it is causing you concern. Have you checked around the dipstick, as backpressure can blow oil out here. That could be you PCV valves.

Thanks for the replies guys..

I know its engine oil due to two major facts. fact one i check the dip stick and is dry as bone..! put oil in drive to work and back happily check again as engine sounding a bit tappety very low levels again..! there are stains on my driveway too.

as for old Zed's theory i have not noticed any smoke out the back buddy but surely an engine that was rebuilt 1000miles ago should not be burning 1 litro of oil per day.

paul canny just take the car to the garage whenever i feel like it as im based in London and the Garage is in Stockport..! 350Miles away that in my books will cook the engine..

hence im asking here just in case is something easy but it dont look like it.

i had a leak on the turbo oil return pipes check those matey, your sure you not smoking on overrun, put some newspaper under the zed try to pinpoint where its coming from

thanx bud it's an N/A but will try the news paper
