does the temp you set it to reset to 25 as well? check fuses in drivers footwell

no that stays at wot i set it bud?

Mine did the same thing. I was wondering what AMB meant, can anyone tell me if this is the outside temp or something else. Thanks guys

amb = ambient outside temerature , the sensor for this is behind the front bumper, any problems here normally give a very high minus number like -89 deg.

Thanks Jeff TT thats what I thought it was but sometimes the numbers dont seem to be right. This might need another thread but if I turn on the Front windsreen button a grumbling noise starts in the engine area. Any ideas?

Sounds normal mate. When you stop for a while I guess the sensor is influenced by the temperature from the engine compartment rather than outside temperature.

In very hot weather last summer, my ambient temp read (say) 30 degrees whilst driving. If I left the car parked for 1/2 hour and got back in, the guage would read 40 or 45 degrees immediately on start-up but after driving a few miles is would drop back to 30 again.

Does the same in the cold at present. Read 1 or 2 yesterday whilst driving but after being parked for 1/2 hour it read 12 when I got back in. After driving for a mile or so it soon dropped back to 1.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sound like a noisy air con compressor, most likely will need replacing as it will seize eventually.

The reason it reads higher is beacuse when you are stopped the heat from the rad enters the front of the front bumper section and warms things up including the sensor so of course when the rad gets cold or you move off again cold air is then being blown over the sensor so that's why the amb temp creeps back down!
