ever since ive owned my 300 tt, the speedometer works when it fills like it.

sometimes it works for a week and other it go,s up and down as often as a pair of bar maids knickers.Although it never seems to interfear with the mileage, any thoughts there?

PS its a uk spec and man. :(

not sure but i think it has something to do with the speed sensor, do a search and all will be revealled

p.s do you have the number for that knicker dropping barmaid

Pardon my igrence and spelling but ive only just joined last week, do a search?

and sorry i dont have a number for the knicker dropper barmaid but i do have a picture.if only i new how to put pics on these threads id ablige but bewarnd she,s a bit of a dog.

As the speedo is electronic and you say the milage is still clocking up then it sounds more than likely to be the actual unit that the needle fits into. the only real way to fix it would probalbly be to fit a replacement speedo unit. it is quite an easy job to do but like all jobs the first time is the hardest. But its this bit that determins if its KPH or MPH so make sure you get the correct clock.

they can suffer from dry solder joints like the digital clock in the centre consol.

gently take the dash cluster apart, remove the speedo and resolder all the joints (im having to do exactly the same to my uk clocks only had them fitted 3 months :headvswal )

To be honest, i think speedos are the most common problem at the mo (and not the swimming trunks, cus they arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr a problem!!). Im suffering at the mo but mines auto and import so can be more troublesome. You will find the answer on here matey. Good luck ;)
