I have been told that these modules are not very reliable and tend to fail after about 6 months. They can also be faulty from new which was the case when my son purchased one, he had his dash out about 6 times before finally realising that the fault was the component......beware.

Im looking to get my import Derestricted, i've come across this bit of equipment on ebay.

Are there any better options available?

best way is to swap the clocks and reprogram eprom (do a search) but easier/ cheaper to use one of these modules - speak to luke @ zcentre http://www.zcentre.co.uk - had mine in for 3 years now, no problems. As for taking the dash off, it goes under the instrument binnacle so only takes 5 minutes to fit/ check/ remove - at least on the zx.
