sold my st 24 or px shall i say against an x reg astra estate ,i cant believe i bought a sensible car at last,with some half decent fuel economy,i opted out in the end on getting a 4x4 just couldnt make my mind up :hyper:

Older style plates. A letter was denoted to a year or part year. ie, an L reg is 93/94 M reg is 94/95 N reg is 95/96 and so on. 'Q' plates are for vehicles where a year of manufacture cannot be established, so some kit cars and stolen/recovered vehicles have these. No O plates or Z plates either as these look like zero and the number two. No I plates or U plates either.

 

We are now using a different system. Currently '55' plate is the current one next will be 06, then 56 and so on.

 

I have an Astra Estate as well Jason, an 02 diesel. Pretty slow, but returns a healthy MPG and the MK4's are reasonable cars. Half decent build quality and a smooth ride. Handle quite well for a bit of a barge.
