:rant: read in the paper today that a registary office somewhere in this country has just been made to take a painting of a bride and groom down off the wall, just incase it offended gay's

There are gossip papers and there are factual papers. Yes, none may not be 100% truthful, but tabloids really are crummy gossip papers.

at the end of the day i never read the papers anyway so im not really bothered who said what as long as it dont affect me directly and this country is getting to ott on the politcal corectness i say its about time we had a good uprising against the government

I think this stuff is actually done/reported/leaked to build up animosity against certain minority groups. I've never known a muslim/jew/budhist to be offended by xmas and every year we hear of councils canceling events and changing names, I've certainly never known anyone who is gay be offended by weddings between straight people, most of them love a good wedding

i quite like the sun as they seem to stand up for the normal people of this country, like putting up rewards for the catch of killers, rapists and the like (yes i know they are doing it to sell papers), btu i think that they are on our side

It's Chinese whispers, same thing goes for a lot of the PC stuff that's come out. It's all been blown waaayyyyyy out of proportion. I do however agree with everyone's views on all this PC crap, but at the end of the day, if this hadn't stemmed from something insignificant that might have been inadvertently said to the wrong person at the wrong time, then none of this would ever come to light.

maybe your right, but it still came to light, as ive said i know a couple of people in the civil service and the job they do is to go and look for such things as mentioned in our thread here (they are all arseholes)

 

one of them tried to ban the lottery syndicate in the workplace as it may destroy thier lives and sue the company they work for and he was deadly seriouse

 

so what im saying is it just takes one wakna to start something like this and all hell breaks loose
