Over the past month she has started to run rough and hunt up and down the revs... not a lot.. but enough for it to worry me as she used to run so well, and at the back end she doesn't sound like she's running right.

Does she just need a tune up? or is something going? all gauges are fine and the oil was changed quite recently.

I had a look under her last week and there are 2 cables that go into the exhaust that are broken, its quite a way back, think its after the first silencer (not cat) will this be my problem and what are they?

If they are the cat heat senders they are nothing to worry about, roughly located underneath the front seats!

 

When was the last time you had the car serviced, ie plugs conzult, boost leak check, fuel pressure check!

 

Sounds like you may be missing on one cylinder, try to get a conzult or disconnect each coil pack to see which one makes the least difference!

i do all my own work, i changed the plugs this year, i dont think its as bad as missing on 1, maybe fuel pressure though.

so its worth taking it to someone that knows a lot about the Z and getting them to tune her up?

Doing a conzult and boost leak test are the first major diagnostics!

 

If no conzult handy, remove indivdual coil pack leads, this will give you a pointer if one particular cylinder is playing up, then jiggle injector connnectors to see if they play up!
