Anyone got pics of their HKS Induction Kit, I have just fitted mine and it seems very close to the bar supporting the cooler and the bumper.

I havn't got any pictures although this sounds normal for an aftermarket filter!

You need to be careful of the rain getting through the filter and damaging the MAF.

Are there any mods that can be done to stop the water going directly into the filter in between the gap of the bumper or is it just best to be cautious, as it looks kinda open to the elements.

Maybee a twin filter set up is better as the filters will be up higher.?

hks filters are crap avoid the foam filters as they disintergrate in the wet stick to cone filters i.e apexi (see danny from dta)

John, the support bar runs tight against the back of the filter assembly underneath filter/maf joint. On my car the number plate covers the upper slot in the front bumper which is directly in front of the filter element. I've had one fitted for several years without any problems, but then I do change the filter as per HKS specs.

you could make a piece of plastic to act as a drainaway, and make sure you have the splash guard on underneath which most are missing on zeds

I have had my HKS Superflo filter on my Z now for 2 years and I have never had any problems with water what so ever, even though I have read lots of posts like the one above saying their crap etc, also if you search this forum you will find a lot more posts saying "problem with my Apexi sucking up water". As for the foam disintergrating after two years being on my Z in all sorts of shit conditions, I am only now replacing the foam even though it does not really need doing. I think my HKS filter is GREAT. P.s I dont even have a splash guard the only plastic tray I have is the under belly tray, but I might just be lucky as I have driven through some fookin deep floods.

Cheers for the replies guys,

I have just been a run and even just going up the street the car feels a lot more responsive. As for sucking in water I guess its common sense as with deep puddles, avoid them, but I was thinking of trying to make a guard over the winter.

HKS Filters are popular so I guess everyone has opinions on them but i'd say whatever the filter pointing in that position i'd say they would all sook up loads of water given the right conditions and the filters should be changed regularly, 23 quid isnt a lot of money for a replacement filter.

Cheers again guys
