Flushing

Hi Guys

Looking for some advise. I own a 1993 300ZXTT UK spec manual. I am about to fit De-cats,new RPS max clutch & flywheel. I have drained gearbox, but oil seems crappy. Want to flush crap out of gearbox, diff and piping to cooler. As over 12 years, small particles & crap must build up. what do you recommend i use to flush appart from fresh gearbox oil? i was thinking of using petrol as a flushing agent.

Plan is remove gearbox, fill up with petrol, roll around to flush, then drain out, fit clutch flywheel, then refit. Then remove diff, fill with petrol, wash around and drain. Then force petrol through cooling lines to clean.

Is this a good idea, or is there something better to use.

I was thinking of replacing cooling lines with stainless steel braid hosing, instead of flushing.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Regards

Kevin Harris
